    A gem of a place...

We enjoyed a lovely couple of days here. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are friendly and the breakfast of a high standard and plentiful. It is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas near the lake, but there are still very good places within walking distance where you can enjoy excellent food in the evening, including the restauraunt at the hotel. There is a lovely circular walk that takes you up through the quaint village to a high point with lovely views. On the way you can enjoy fresh mountain water from the fountain, where along with the locals and cyclists we filled our water bottles daily. A gem of a place where we would return.

    Fantastic Hideaway in Quaint Affi

This is a fantastic little three star hotel hidden in the quaint village of Affi. Beautiful villas, ragged cliffs and colorful countryside abound in this area. Corte Impero is away from crowded tourist areas of southern Lake Garda and it makes for a peaceful, relaxing sojourn. The owner informed me that the Corte Impero building dates back the 1600's on one half and the early 1700's on the other and that it has always been a gathering place throughout the years, either as an inn or restaurant. Corte Impero is rustic yet beautifully decorated. The rooms feature quality furniture, a flat screen TV, free WIFI and a high-tech shower stall which can be set for various water spray nozzles. The shower stall was a little small and challenging to turn around in. The restaurant was elegantly decorated and ideally suited for romantic dinners and special events. Service was top-notch and my food was outstanding. I started with a warm octopus and potato antipasto followed by a sliced steak (tagliata) served on a bed of rocket salad, topped with fresh diced tomatoes and small mountain of grated Pecorino cheese. It was so good I plan to reproduce this recipe at home. Dessert was crispy puff pastry with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. After dinner I went outside under the garden canope for cafe and a glass of grappa. Dinner, with two glasses of Bardolino wine and bottle of water cost 45.00 euro. Breakfast was good and focused on a nice assortment of fresh fruits and berries, sided with freshly baked coffee cakes and pastries. I highly recommend a stay at Corte Impero.

Very Quiet Setting Close to lake Garda

The Corte Impero is a very pretty hotel set in an old villa, with a pretty courtyard. It is on the outskirts of Affi, so easily access form the main roads coming from Verona. Affi itself is very small, and lies around 5km from the Lake (Bardolina - Garda town is about 7km away). The staff are very friendly. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. Only quibble is that the shower was not great, not much power, but plenty of hot water. Air conditioning in all rooms and well maintained, worked perfectly (was needed as ver hot week when I was there). The main problem with the rooms is there is no fridge, or kettle, and so if you want to have any water, wine etc, you need to buy it in advance and bring it with you (there is a decent size Shopping Mall not far away). They advertise a restaraunt, but seems like that is just for breakfast and special occasions (they cater for weddings etc). If you want to eat near the hotel, there is a restaurant about 100m down the road (food was good, but pricey and very small portions). If you are driving, head into Bardolina, where there are as many restaraunts as you could wish, and it is a very nice spot for eating in the evening. There is a gym, but did not check it out, and not clear if it is open.

    Pretty Inn, great breakfast

Very good location on the Garda lake ! And easy to reach both from the lake as well as from A22 (but you definitely need a car). Great breakfast and good room (we stayed at the ground floor), pretty installations. But I was a bit disappointed for not having a restaurant at the premisses (though it has Ristorante on the name but didn't announce it on Booking). There are close by restaurants though. The owner was very nice. Would definitely return.
