    A wonderful experience

My husband and I stayed at Corte dei Mori last week and cannot fault it. We had a wonderful time. We arrived by train to san cassiano en route to florence and the owner of the agriturismo collected us from the train station, so even if you don't have a car you can still experience a great holiday here. The room was perfect, very clean and nicely decorated with great views of the olive groves and beautiful scenery. The rooms are seperate to the main house giving you complete privacy, giving you time to wander the hills and take in the scenery. The dinner was the best we have had in italy! The owners just kept on bringing food until we couldnt eat anymore! Homemade Sangiovese wine, home reared pork and lamb, delicious pasta dishes. We can't emphasise enough how good this meal was!! The breakfast was very good too, they gave us a good selection to choose from and even made a great cappucino and an americano too! The owners were lovely people, very friendly and spoke great english. We will be back for sure next time we are in Italy!

    Genuine Italian Countryside

The area is far from any modern city and the tourist streak so you have a chance of sensing the true Italy. The estate is originally a farm and home but has been gradually developed into a comfortable yet by no means pretentious inn type hotel. The family makes their own cold cut produce and serve all the specialities from this corner of Emilia-Romagna. The feeling is that of quiet and ease and you have a garden and pool terrace with an amazing panorama of the hills overlooking the boarder to Tuscany. So you're staying at this secluded place but still just close to Ravenna and can easily get to any of the towns and beaches on the whole coast down to Rimini within an hour. From the next village which is 10 minutes by car you can take a train that takes you to the middle of Florence. When getting to the house you'll drive up a hill on a small dirt road and will think you've gone wrong but just keep going until you see it on your right. It's rural country and the idea is getting away from it all. We stayed two days only with our teenage son but hope to make it there again. The host explained that since the valley goes on a East West tangent the south side of the hills is protected from the cold which is why they can have olive trees as well as wine. We brought back oil bought at the factory, cheese, sausages, Sangiovese wine from the vineyard and shoes hand made in Modiglana.

    3 day stay

Besides being in the hills of Cape Breton in Canada this is the closest I have been to heaven. The views -breathtaking - and the facilities beautiful. Our room was in the old hay loft and the main house was the original barn with the family home above. There was once a carved hatch to let the heat of the animals warm the family in the winter! This saved on heating bills! The pool was stunning and a perfect place to relax, read, do yoga or meditate. I did all of the above since the location called me to do so. The food was the best pasta - bar none - I have had to date. The chef is known throughout Italy and now I know why. Corte dei Mori got its name from the Mori trees which are at the Villa. There are two alive and one has died but the tree still remains. The Mori leaves were used to make the finest Italian Silk. It is rumoured that the Third Mori tree died of a broken heart! I am planning on coming here again in two years with my whole family. This trip was my 15th anniversary with my husband and this was my gift. I asked him to take me to the countryside in Tuscany to drink wine and relax and be with the Italians. Brisighella was better than I could have imagined. Thank you Loris and staff for making our stay wonderful! p.s if you tell Loris - Katherine the Canadian sent you - he will gift you a bottle of his own red wine!

A relaxing stay with a gorgeous pool

We enjoyed our two-night stay here, particularly the beautiful pool (with poolside drink and snack service!) and the fresh pastries at breakfast. The room was practical and clean, if a bit spare. The owner's two adorable dogs roam around and collect cuddles from the guests. Definitely a nice place for a few days.

    Stunning Swimming Pool

The agriturismo Corte dei Mori is located about 10km from Brisighella along the beautiful Lamone valley just outside the tiny village of Sant'Eufemia. The agriturismo is beautifully located with spectacular views up and down the Lamone valley, especially from the swimming pool area (more later). The owner is Loris who is friendly and very helpful, he also speaks very good English. The accommodation is based around the theme of the four seasons and we stayed in the "Autunno" room. The room itself was a bit on the small side and rather spartan, however it was spotlessly clean (and was cleaned daily). The bathroom was small and rather old fashioned, for example the shower was a corner in the bathroom with a shower curtain around it. Certainly, most of the agriturismi today would have a fitted shower cubicle. The bathroom also lacked a hair dyer, however Loris provided us with one upon request. The rooms have air conditioning, unfortunately it was not working for our first two days there (i.e. Saturday and Sunday), however it was mercifully repaired first thing Monday morning as the temperatures has begun to climb into the mid-30s by then. A small fridge would also be welcome addition to the room. The breakfast was fairly typical of what is usually available at an agriturismo. It was also possible to have cold sliced meats from the farm. The real selling point of the agriturismo is the swimming pool which is probably one of the most beautiful that we have ever come across in our travels across Italy. The swimming pool has a modern and contemporary design with spectacular views up and down the Lamone view. It is a really wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The beautiful swimming pool makes the Corte dei Mori well worth a visit.
