Yo no volvería.

Excellent HotelBooked for week-end away with Daughter, and granddaughters, for market and visit to Edinburgh. Hotel great for transport into Edinburgh, we had two rooms in the attic, and both very clean, and everything we needed, beds comfortable and good night's sleep. Breakfast first class, with perfect cooked breakfast, and plenty of choice of continental items. Would recommend.

Lovely placeWe stayed here as a stop off between journeys and were pleasently surprised at its cleanliness and friendliness. We didn't arrive till 11pm and we were quickly checked in. My husband travels with an electric wheelchair and we were able to get in through the side door which has no steps. Bedrooms where spacious and homely. Only downside is that the double bed was slightly smaller than normal... More cosy than we're used to! Breakfast was amazing with all on offer and nothing was too difficult an ask. Great value for money

Value for moneyWe booked this hotel at last minute because we couldn't believe the price.. just £44 for an overnight stay in a twin room, including full breakfast ! Often dissapointed by budget hotels but have to say this was the best one I've stayed in.. warmly welcomed by Stephanos, gave great first impression. Room was bright and cheerful with huge windows and many period features have survived.. fireplace, shutters etc., en-suite bathroom was immaculate but compact. Food is available in the bar from 1pm, just light bites and a few staples - nothing great just the kind of thing you might eat at home, most of it frozen but for the price I didn't mind.. because the weather was so atrocious we opted to eat here rather than walk about in heavy rain and gale force winds. Chelsea cooked an excellent cheese omelette with chips for me and my companion had a chicken dish but the one thing I was astounded by, was that there was no vinegar for the chips, Chelsea searched for it but couldn't find any. Must say the staff at this hotel were extremely obliging and really tried their hardest to make our stay enjoyable.. Had an excellent night's rest and slept very well, bed was very comfortable and room was cosy. Breakfast was served in the conservatory dining room - plenty of choice, cereals, pastries, fruit, and of course the full breakfast.. budget ingredients but cooked very well. All in all, the only negative thing about this hotel is the lack of parking outside, we had to drive around the area a couple of times before we spotted a space on the street, 200 yards from the hotel. There is a bus stop about 50 yards from the hotel to take you into the city centre (about three miles) so this hotel is well served by public transport. People often say "you get what you pay for" but at this hotel you definitely get great value for money and the kind of customer service you'd expect from a top hotel
