Totalmente recomendable! Es un tesoro!!!

Short breakAll was top notch - cleanliness/food/atmosphere/staff/covid safe. Room was super clean. Super attention was given in all areas re covid but most of all in the restaurant. All measures were taken. This hotel is ideal for a quiet retreat.

Comfortable hotel in GozoI travelled to Gozo for a weekend break by myself, stayed at the Cornucopia Hotel for 1 night. The staff are friendly and did their best to help me with a particular mobile charging issue. Room that I stayed was clean, well lit naturally including night lamps plus all amenities expected from a hotel like comfortable bed, tv, desk & very mini bar, bathroom. Hotel itself is also well kept which includes some 3 swimming pools and open areas for relaxing. Area near hotel in Xagra is a bit quiet but room have nice views overlooking Tas-Salvatur Hill and of course sunset. Still like 5-10minutes walk can easily arrive at village centre. Good priced which included a great selection for breakfast. Highly recommended to stay in Cornucopia Hotel! Grazzi minn Malta u Gawdex :)

Always an excellent holiday! This review is based on my holiday at the Cornucopia in December 2019. WHY I LIKE THIS HOTEL The staff are considerate and helpful and the service is excellent. The architecture is glorious; this hotel feels more like a large villa than a hotel. Its hill top LOCATION on the outskirts of Xaghra offers lovely views and is a good base for enjoyable walks on the north side of Gozo. My ROOM was nicely furnished (more of this, below) and a nice size. I like the way my room opened directly onto a terrace and courtyard rather than into a corridor. My terrace was nicely located for sunshine or shade (depending on where I sat) from mid-morning through to mid-afternoon (winter season).. It is a pleasant place to be if the weather is too awful for walking. There seems to be plenty of outdoor space around the pools. This is a hotel I like, visit regularly and recommend. ROOM My room was on the lower floor of a two storey block. There are 10 steps from the courtyard up to this lower floor and more steps (around 14 I think) to the upper floor so if mobility is a concern to you then contact the hotel to see if they have a room that might suit you. I had a delightful double room of a comfortably large size. The double bed consisted of two single beds pushed together fitted with double bed linen. There was a wardrobe unit, two wall-hung shelves (one serving nicely as a writing table), television, fridge, tea and coffee facilities (kettle and cups with tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar replenished in generous portion each day), hair dryer with shaver sockets, stool, a bed side table on each side of the bed and three mirrors (one in the bathroom and two in the room itself). STORAGE There was plenty of storage even by my standards (I like a lot of storage space). The wardrobe unit was a combined double and single wardrobe. It was a lovely piece of furniture made, I think, of solid wood rather than veneered board and had a lovely shine on its doors. The double wardrobe had a full width rail and plenty of clothes hangers. The rail was about 190cms above floor level which meant that although it was a bit of stretch for me to hang clothes on this rail there was space below my clothes for me to store my suitcase, boots and shoes. The single wardrobe was fitted with three shelves, the full width and depth of the wardrobe, and a drawer. I could also store things on the floor of this wardrobe. Each bed side table had a drawer and a cubby hole. There were two shelves hung below a mirror on one wall. One shelf was large and nicely positioned and lit for writing (the stool suited this shelf very nicely) and the smaller shelf beneath it was a convenient place to store guide books and maps. POWER SOCKETS I found five sockets in my room. There was one on each side of the bed with a third socket behind the centre part of the bed head (I assume the room originally had twin beds and this socket would have been in the gap between the bed heads). There were a further two sockets near the wall-hung shelves. One powered the television via a two-pin plug and the other socket powered the kettle and fridge via a three-way adaptor which meant there was a socket free on the adaptor for my equipment. LIGHTING The lighting was good. There was a light above the bed head for each side of the bed and a light over the wall-hung shelves. HEATING My room had air conditioning and a ceiling mounted fan. My room was at a comfortable temperature without using any heating or cooling. BATHROOM This had a large hand basin and a large mirror. The shower head was the 'hand held or hang on a bracket' type although there wasn't a bracket from which to hang it. There was plenty of hot water for either a bath or a shower. TERRACE Each room has a walled area on the terrace in front of the room. I've previously referred to this as a sort of 'balcony' but I think that 'terrace' suits it better. Regardless of the name, it was a lovely place in the morning to sit, plan the day's walking and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. In the evening I was taking my cup of tea onto the terrace well into the evening, to relax after the day's activities. It was nicely sheltered from both sun and rain. WI-FI I believe wi-fi is provided free of charge over the whole hotel. I used it in my room and in the dining room and it worked well. DINING ROOM AND BREAKFAST The main dining room has several stone arches which lend themselves very well indeed to Christmas decorations. Several times during my stay the hotel hosted some breakfast groups which gave the dining room a nice 'buzz'. The breakfast menu suited my preferences and there was plenty of choice. If the hot counter was not in use then hot food would readily and promptly be cooked to order. There is a second, smaller dining room used by hotel guests when the main dining room is either not in use or is occupied with a large party. For this holiday I was on B&B so I did not use either dining room in the evening. STAFF AND SERVICE I am delighted to say that the standard of service was excellent. All the staff were affable and helpful. It was lovely to be greeted with welcome back from all the staff I met. It was also impressively nice to have my suitcase carried (by the gentleman on the reception desk) to my room as soon as I had registered. CAR PARKING There are parking space outside the hotel and on the street. LOCATION The Cornucopia is on the end of a ridge at the outskirts of Xaghra which is a large and pleasant hill top town on the north side of Gozo. Walkers and cyclists should note that going away from Xaghra is invariably downhill which means that coming back to Xaghra is invariably uphill. The centre of Xaghra with shops and cafes is about 10 minutes walk from the Cornucopia. BUSES ROUTES Route 307 (usually every hour) connects Xaghra with the capital. The bus stop nearest to the Cornucopia is the Xerri bus stop around 500m from the hotel. If this stop is closed (usually because the road is closed because of construction work) the nearest stops would then be the Lukin stop which is around 750 m from the hotel or the Xaghra stop which is around 1km from the hotel. Route 322 connects Xaghra with Marsalforn, Nadur and the harbour. Its route does not call at Xerri or Lukin bus stops. TWO CENTRE HOLIDAY This was a two centre holiday booked as a package holiday via Chevron in the UK. I staying first at the Cornucopia and then moved to St Patrick's hotel in Xlendi. Both hotels are part of the same company. The transfer between hotels was not included in my package. It was easy to do the transfer using the bus service (307 from Xaghra to the capital and 306 from there to Xlendi). This two centre arrangement works nicely for me because the Cornucopia is a good base for walking on the north side of Gozo and St Patrick's is a good base for walking on the south side of Gozo.
