  Hemos estado 5 inolvidables dias en Taunton por motivos familiares y la eleccion de este hotel no ha podido ser mas errada y desastrosa. El hotel que por fuera es bonito, no tiene ascensor, las habitaciones parecen camarotes de barco, sucias mal aisladas por lo que con la ola de calor parecian un horno de noche y de dia .Los suspiros de la vecina amenizaron el fin de semana. La moqueta del suelo oculta baldosas sueltas que suenan cuando las pisas. No cambian la ropa de cama, el personal de recepción solo entiende ingles, se aprovecha de los clientes extranjeros cobrandoles por servicios no justificados (un desayuno ingles y un sandwich 18 libras) . No hay camareros que sirvan las mesas claro, No saben ni poner una tónica, (sin hielo ni limón en verano). En españa no se podria llamar hotel a esta pension de tercera, pueblerina y cateta

  estupendo

  Viajamos un grupo de 21 personas. Desayunos excepcionales y cenas estupendas. Menús a escoger, también vegetarianos y veganos. Pub. Muy buena atención a todas las necesidades e incidencias para un grupo tan grande. Habitación espaciosa. La única pega es el poco caudal de agua en la ducha. Viajamos en agosto, quizá en invierno suponga un problema el agua caliente

  A great find and really enjoyable stay

  What a great Hotel! Nothing was too much trouble - we had our two dogs with us and were booked in over the Internet?e-mail by Jamie, who gave us an upgrade room in the handy annexe (although still attached to the main Hotel) and on arrival, took the time to show us how to get to the most amazing area to walk the dogs about 400 yards away at French Weir. The weekend started well and only got better, as the food was great, breakfast was a pre-order, but was equally impressive and Jane and Rachel looked after us on both mornings/evenings and couldn't have been more helpful.....all in the bar, as we wanted to have the dogs with us whilst eating......wines were also excellent and really sensibly priced. It was a short walk into town, again, described well by Jamie and we spent the days looking around the area, as we have thoughts on moving to this neck of the woods......the advice of Carlos (Manager) of the areas to concentrate on were spot-on and much appreciated. The most beautiful park I have seen in my life was their Vivary Park, was just a shame that dogs had to be kept on leads and boy, did the squirels know that, as they sat laughing at our two from their perches in the trees!! Great room with fridge; great staff and great food and drink. We will return!! Just be aware, that you arrive via a one-way system that stops you directly opposite the entrance and the car park is right in front of you, so take the inside lane as you get to the "stop" sign, else you will have to go around again.......as we did!!

  Fantastic Place

  I stayed In the hotel for 3 nights and everything was spot on. I was working in the town centre and it isnt far to walk from the hotel. We parked in the hotel and it is great for tradesmen. The breakfast is absolutely brilliant my favourite part of the stay was i left my headphones in the hotel and they are very expensive and i live miles away and thought they were gone. i rang the hotel and they said they had found them and said they would post them which is brilliant service and the lady on the phone was very helpful it made me feel really looked after Thanks to all the staff for being so professional

  Unexpected treasure

  I have had to travel to Taunton for work during the Covid pandemic, and experience of the chains hasn't been so great elsewhere and the choice in Taunton isn't spectacular on that front, so I chose this on price and location. Its very reasonably priced even before you actually find out what a gem it is, and after, well.....! The location is also good so that getting a decent walk in the morning or evening isn't a chore. The first time I stayed was during the Tier system, so breakfast and evening meals were in the restaurant, and well controlled under the restrictions. I raved over Breakfast for days until my wife took the mickey out of my Covid paunch! The evening meal was great as well. I have stayed two further times since then, and each time is as good- all of the staff are friendly and helpful; covid controls are great and the breakfast and evening meals delivered to the room way better than any of the chain hotels have managed to deliver during my covid travels, and before then as well! The rooms are a little small and could do with a spring spruce, but they are functional and comfortable and for the price, I'm not sure that you could expect more anyway. I will be stopping here for the duration of my project, and in fact, checking out tomorrow is quite upsetting- apart from my wife, going home has little attraction when this place is so nice.
