Anniversary trip to the coastMy husband made the reservations for 1 night in Eureka at the Daly Inn. When we arrived the innkeeper showed us around and took us up to our room. It was a large suite with a big bed, wicker furniture, and an Armoire in the first room. There was a sitting room off this room and a large bathroom off of the sitting room. It was so nice to have places to sit and read. The suite was decorated in the Victorian style with lots of wallpaper. We were told that breakfast was at 8:30 am, so we went downstairs a little before 8:30 and talked to the other guests. The breakfast was delicious with a frittata, fresh fruit, scones and a sweet bread. I felt that the innkeeper went out of his way to make sure we all had everything we needed. After breakfast he asked us if we wanted to see the "dance" room on the 3rd floor. We all said yes, and we were given a tour of a huge room where the Daly family had family gatherings. There were old photographs of the house and old newspapers with ads of the Daly Department store. We enjoyed our stay very much and were pleased with all the amenities provided.

Warm and Inviting! We stayed 2 nights and would absolutely stay again. Our group of 4 had two rooms (Miss Martha's Room & Annie Murphy's Room) and we were all delighted (our group ranges from age 16 to age 86!). Local family members joined us both mornings for the amazingly delicious breakfast served. In fact, we delayed leaving so we could enjoy breakfast at the Inn the 2nd morning - it was worth the delay! The on-line pictures don't do the Inn justice - the architectural and design details of the home are stunning. Amazingly beautiful woodwork and wall coverings. The home has been immaculately restored and maintained. We were given a brief history of the home and spent an evening shooting pool, playing chess, and drinking hot tea in the main living areas. We were also shown the other rooms we hadn't booked and found the innkeeper accommodating in every way.

A B and B with Victorian CharmLike much of Eureka, the Daly Inn has a unique charm that stems from an age gone by. The Daly Inn is a beautiful house with plenty of places downstairs to sit and visit or play some pool. Our room was very nice and comfortable with a living area separate from the bedroom. The breakfast was first rate and comparable to that made at most B and Bs. The hosts seemed a bit remote and so we didn't really get much of reading of them. The location was fine though we did have to drive to get to the beach and pier.

The real thing Victorian! We stayed in the Garden suite upstairs. It had a comfy queen bed, another room with a si,Nile bed and sitting area toward back of house, and a bathroom with tub/ shower good pressure. The main bedroom was a bit dark, due to the burgundy and greens in the. Ending and wallpaper, but the extra room was like a sun room, all windows. The innkeeper clearly wanted to please. He was, shall we say, unobtrusive. He showed no emotion from the time he answered the door with a straight face and a "hello" that he saved until we got in with our bags and he closed the door. He offered to help with luggage from the car. If you go past the Inn and take the left on the corner it goes behind the house to a parking area and you can walk into the garden and into the house from the side. He said we also could have parked right in front, He was happy to answer questions about the Inn, telling us the wallpaper was a remake of the wallpapers of the times. We were the only ones in the Inn that night. It was like being in our own home, yet a little spooky. I think the in keeper may live in the house behind, as we saw him go there after bfast. As for bfast, due to dietary restrictions, I asked for scrambled eggs and even brought my own multigrain toast and margarine. He asked if I wanted egg whites, so I said sure. Promply at 8:30 he came in to pour the juice, coffee and tea. He. Fought me exactly what I asked for and it was wonderful. I wanted my daughter to get the inns regular offering, as I read it was very good and wanted to see the scone, but she doesn't like bfast and only had coffee. He set up the smaller dining room for us that had a smaller table, rather than the larger one next to it, behind glass doors. It was lovely. He really has a thing about liking to pour, and came in many times to ask if we wanted more coffee or tea. The carafes were on a table next to us, and I felt more comfortable helping myself. Take some time to look around at the books and other furniture. The other rooms were locked, except for one in the front that was brightly done in lighter colors. It shared a bathroom. We did not see anyone else, though I think he owns the Inn with his wife who I spoke to once on the phone. If you have any questions, call and ask rather than email. I had a few questions before booking and did better with a phone call. We went in June. The room was comfortable without AC and I kept several windows open. There aren't a lot of electric outlets in the room, but we found a few that worked fine to charge our devices. There was a small frig in a bathroom closet and that was fine for a few things. There was a For Sale sign on the corner of the lot. Yes, I would recommend staying here. I think we paid $185. There was a good local supermarket, but it was on the other side of town, about 10 minute drive. The Inn was in a residential area and was quiet, almost too quiet! Did the innkeeper remind me of Lurch from the Addams family?

wonderful placeReally nice welcoming country town bed & breakfast hotel. A great host and beautiful period home. A really nice breakfast. The rooms all have real character. Highly recommend. Don't visit if you are expecting mod cons, do visit if you like playing billiards/pool. Check out the art deco cinema in town.
