    Buena guesthouse

    Great for the price!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights while in Chiang Rai and were satisfied with our choice. Even though it could be a bit far from town, the hotel offers mopeds and bicycles at reasonable rates. The room was spacious and clean with a balcony, WiFi was good, and service was great. Some of the staff's English was not that well, however they have a few that can speak near-perfectly. No breakfast provided but they do have a hot water machine for coffee and tea, plus 7/11 is only about 3-5 minutes away. Rooms come with flat-screen, fridge, AC, and safe. My only complaint were the bugs. But that's Thailand for you and they were never inside the hotel room. Definitely recommended if looking for a cheaper place to stay.

Bottom line? If you value peace and quiet, my personal advice is find some other hotel/motel to stay at.

Bottom line? If you value peace and quiet, my personal advice is to find some other hotel/motel to stay at. Our family stayed at this hotel in Thailand, and we can say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is the noisiest hotel that we have ever stayed at in our lives. It seems that the staff enjoys laughing and carrying on, more than they do the comfort of their guests. It was endless chatter (loud chatter!) that really put us off about this 2-star hotel. One worker laughs every few seconds, not minutes, which we found unbearably uncomfortable. Her piercing, nervous laughter was like fingernails on a chalkboard and wrecked our time there. As soon as she got off from work and left the hotel premises, the whole atmosphere changed dramatically. It was normal again. However, she works from 8 am to 5 pm, so you will have to be willing to deal with all of this during these hours. The receptionist seems to have an extremely hard time talking softly, too, and you can hear her loud voice all day, too. This is beside the community center which is located no more than 20 meters away from the hotel, that blares out music so loud that it is hard to comprehend. This goes on for about 3 hours a day, every day. The hotel is right on the road, so in this regard, it is also noisy. Anyway, we don't want to ruin things for this hotel, which has clean and comfortable rooms, but we would never opt to stay there again, due to the noise factor. If endless noise is not an issue for you, then I think you will like staying there

    Buena

Lugar limpio pero frío, está un poco lejos del centro, pero en un bonito lugar, te y cafe gratis, sin desayuno, los recepcionistas son muy cordiales y amables, pero es dificil entenderles su inglés, un lugar normal

    clean, cheap and cheerful

Large, comfortable and clean rooms for the price. Some Western and Chinese guests, but on the whole most guests seem to be Thai businesspeople and families on vacation. The staff speak some English and are friendly and helpful. Boiling hot water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided all day by the reception, biscuits are provided in the morning. The only disadvantage of this hotel for tourists is that it takes a good 20-30min to walk to the city centre and sights, but there are plenty of facilities nearby (7/11, fruit and vegetable sellers, bar, street food sellers, motorbike rental) and you see a more 'local' part of town. The Sunday walking market is very close, on the main road 3min walk away.
