  Summer ski lodge

  V few guests in summer especially at end of the season. We had a large lodge room with enormous bed - king or super king. Bathroom with walk in shower, no bath. Fridge but no tea or coffee, both available in reception. Very quiet location. 15 min drive from Golden. Breakfast included - adequate is the best way I can describe it... Short walk to chair lifts - one going even in summer. Attached steak house closed. May only open for winter. Next door lodge has open restaurant Winston Bar & Bistro.

  Not as expected

  On our Golden wedding trip so booked at Golden, good hotel but not as advertised on line, no in room drink facilities no bathrobes, no phone, if you wanted a hot drink you had to go to reception, no proper room service. Breakfast not as advertised uncooked pastries, poor choices. After complaining a much improved breakfast and I must give credit to the front staff supervisor she did arrange a rebate of some of the cost. Great surroundings with a nearby gondola ride to the top of the mountain, and even though the hotel restaurant was not open next door was a good hostility with reasonable food and beer on tap.

  Excellent hotel

  Stayed 5 nights for skiing at Kicking Horse. Huge room, big bed, excellent breakfast and would recommend. Yes, Reception did not tend to be manned (but why did I need them?), maybe could have been helped with a bath or hot tub, but Id happily stay here again on my next trip to resort.

  Quiet stay in the mountains

  Quiet and quaint. Massive fireplace and complimentary tea and coffee in the main lobby. Buffet breakfast was great. Lots of choices, great muffins and pastries. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable, mountain views to wake up to. Can't really complain about much at all. The perfect escape for anyone looking to spend some days skiing at Kicking Horse while having quiet nights. Steakhouse in the lodge was an added bonus. Highly recommend.

  STILL WAITING FOR REFUND

  Had to cancel our trip due to Covid pandemic. We were booked in for March 12 and 13, 2020. It is now June 5, 2020 and still waiting for the refund. We were assured we would be refunded within a week. Trying to be patient but no one is answering phone calls or emails. Expedia can't even get in touch with anyone. Poor customer service. NOT COOL!
