    Copper Chase/Brian Head

Stayed a week at Copper Chase thru AFVC. Check in was a breeze, Chris and Tami were very helpful with the arrival process. Room was 110 (bldg A), clean, well furnished and equipped. This is NOT your normal time share place, which is fine by me as an AFVC traveler. The area around could not be better with national monuments and parks close in every direction and stunning views all around. I did not have to deal with the "4 stairs" issue mentioned in other reviews, but did see that that could be a minor inconvenience. Covered parking under building, nice grounds with 2 firepits, several gas grills, pool, gym, so all good there. WiFi was fine, TV channel options plentiful, DVD player in room as well. I think late April thru mid-June are kind of off season, ski slopes are over, but summer hasn't really kicked in so we had most of the places around with very few other people and it had been pretty dry so didn't have to deal with the snow-melt mud either, so, well, basically, perfect

    Awful!

This place is awful! I can't believe RCI even has it as an option. It is old, outdated, and dirty. It smells musty, dead plants laying around, kitchen floor was coming up. I am pretty sure there is asbestos on the ceiling in the garage. No one is ever at the front desk so it's nearly impossible to speak to anyone about concerns. It appears nothing has been cleaned or changed since the early 80's We were supposed to stay a week and cancelled after night one as we were both afraid we were going to "catch" something staying here. Do not stay here! There are several hotels or resorts that are much better for about the same price.

    mountain resort in the summer

This is a condo, privately owned, apparently with a real estate management company. We were warned there is no Front Desk, Concierge, etc. Kitchen well stocked with multiple patterns of dishes, etc... jacussi in Master BR, shower in 2nd BR. TV, VCR or something similar, some board games in unit. ample drawers, etc for personal stuff. I was glad to have an oxygen machine (INOGEN) for the times we were above 6000 ft, which was a lot. The others in our party did OK without it. Pizza place and small general store nearby, full service groceries in nearby town. We did day trips to Zion, Bryce, Cedar Breaks National parks, monuments, with a "rest day" in between as we are all over 65.

Comfortable Ski out (not ski in) but older Condo's

I booked a studio (141) and one bedroom (219) for a week on our first trip to Brian Head Ski Resort. This is an older complex but is fairly well maintained for its age. The studio was comfortable but did not have a fireplace or a dishwasher. It did have a great view. The one bedroom does have a fireplace and dishwasher. Building #2 (newer building) has an elevator, it is also the building with the pool and jacuzzi. The older Building #1 does not have an elevator so if you are on the upper levels be prepared to hike the stairs which I would not recommend for elderly people due to the elevation unless you are in great shape. I found the units clean and comfortable for their age and felt the price was a fair value. This is a ski out only resort, you can ski directly to the Bunny Hill on the Navajo side of the mountain and take the main lift up from there to the top. However, unless you like to hike uphill I recommend taking the shuttle back to the complex. I would not recommend anyone staying here that has concerns with Altitude Sickness since this area is close to 10,000 ft in elevation, just my opinion, I am not a doctor. Besides not being able to ski back to the complex I did not like the fact that you had to take your trash outside the building and hike it to the top of the driveway, probably me just being uppity?
