Okay placeStayed at the Conway for two nights. The room was quite clean, there was warm water, although it took a while before the water became warm. The internet wasn't always good /fast though but it did work. The accommodation was really good actually! The only downside was the the professionality and friendliness of the staff which really was highly dependent on the particular person. For example, when i asked for a glass of warm milk i was informed that this was not possible, where else the waitress the day before had managed to provide me with a warm glass of milk. I had requested for the breakfast to be prepared the night before is i was leaving very early in the morning and was informed that this was possible. When i came for breakfast, i was sadly informed that there was simply no breakfast. The taxi chauffeur had not been arranged although i had specifically requested for a taxi to come pick me up in the early hours.

Extremely helpfulThe hotelier and his staff were extremely kind and helpful. We caught a tuk tuk here from the port. Then were warmly welcomed, we were also given contacts for our stay in mtwara and through his contact got across the border into Mozambique. Above and beyond professional service on a good budget

Avoid this place if you canI had booked and paid for this hotel in advance via Expedia. When I arrived late night there was no one at the reception. After a few hellos someone woke up and stood up from behind the counter. However they had no record of my booking. Luckily I had brought a print out of my Expedia booking and after about 30 mins of discussions in Swahily which I did not understand among the first person an a couple others who had appeared they gave me a room of the 4th floor. No elevator. The room was a shock. Other than the bed and the bathroom there was literally about 5 to 10 additional square feet of floor space. Just enough to park my bags and shoes. The hotel is located on the main road and the back of the hotel overlooks the slums of the city. No city view or ocean view here. It was extremely noisy even through the night. There were gaps in the windows that allowed all noise in. I requested a 1st floor room several times and was given one late the next day. Advantage.. did not have to climb so many stairs. Disadvange.. Noise got a lot louder. The hotel advertised WiFi.. It only worked if you stood in front of the reception and that too sometimes. So essentially there was no WiFi. The bed sheets were changed daily but on multiple occasions they had stains including large blood stains on them so I had to go down and get them exchanged. I could go on and on. I had gone at a time when there was a conference in town and pretty much every hotel in the area was full else I would probably left the next day. Also I had prepaid for the stay and was not sure if I could get any money back. In short, if you can avoid this place like the plague. Happy travels.

A pleasant 5 night stay.A very familiar hotel situated a little outside the city center. The staff was very helpful and nice and we had a lot of fun together with them. They offered us cheap drives with the hotels own taxi and it worked very well with pick up after a day in town and everything.Breakfast and other meals are served in their small restaurant to a very low price, and everything we had was very good.If you are looking for luxary,go somewhere else, but if you want to meet nice people and have a good time and cheap living, this is the place!

Basic accommodation for short stayVery basic accommodation for short stays mainly if you are, for example, going to Ubungo station. Restaurant is quite strange, from what I saw they had two menus, one for foreigners and one for locals with a big difference in prices. There was good WiFi reception all over the hotel. It can be a bit loud as it is right on one of Dar's busiest roads. If you want a taxi talk to the security guards instead of at the lobby or you will be overcharged.
