  A solid budget hotel, with some limitations

  I stayed here for three weeks in Oct-Nov 2015 on business. On the positive side, the hotel is new so very little wear and tear yet, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the wi-fi is amongst the fastest I've seen in Africa. Maybe the fastest. Regular rooms are small, but with decent quality fixtures to include the bathroom. All rooms have AC and large flat-screen TVs as well. On the negative side, some of the hotel staff aren't particularly well trained, and while some understand customer service, some don't at all. The restaurant really isn't worth the effort: the breakfast pushes the minimum of "continental" (croissant and coffee, maybe juice), and if you're ordering lunch or dinner of the menu always ask first which of the 20 dishes listed they actually have. It'll be 2 or 3 at best. And they haven't quite figured out room service yet, so don't rely on that. Also, the hotel's pretty isolated in a residential neighbourhood so if you want to go for a meal anywhere or do any shopping it will involve a hire car or a taxi. Nothing walkable nearby, unless you plan to walk 30+ minutes. As a 3-star, it's very basic, so no amenities at all besides the wi-fi and the restaurant. While I wouldn't go back to the Congress for a long stay, for a few nights on a budget it's got to be one of the top options in its bracket in Yaounde.

  Small hotel - very few people staying there, food not great.

  My room on 2nd floor flooded, the bed was wet - just because it rained! Would not stay there again. Must assume that the word has got out this hotel is one to avoid if you can. As one reviewer wrote - the menu has lots of options - but when you try to order most of it is not available. Contrary to one reviewers report on the Wi-Fi. Being fast - I report for the three days I stayed there it was so slow I could not open yahoo.

  Short stay

  Overall the hotel is ok, the neighborhood is quiet at night, which is non negligible in yaounde. I had the lowest rate room, it was basic, clean, comfortable, spacious, lightning and tv screen can be better though.

  Nice cozy homely

  Nice hotel in a secure neighborhood. The Steak however is something to stay away from! The internet was also intermittent. The staff are very polite professional and very helpful. I however found their means a bit substandard and frankly too expensive especially the breakfast. The steak was terrible!
