20 minutes from DisneylandWe stayed here as it was close to Disneyland without the expense. We found everything as it should be and could not fault our stay. Value for money and we would stay again. A good hotel for a stop over or a short break.

It's cheap, its somewhere to sleep! It's basic! We booked this hotel through booking.com and it was supposed to be 320 for 3 nights for 5 of us in one room. It's fairly easy to find, it took about 3hrs from Calais with the last 30miles being the most difficult in navigation - until that point it's 2 roads for 70miles each! It's on the outskirts of the town and the area doesn't look that appealing. The hotel car park was ok, and was very secure - however, when we arrived, there were 3 children in the car park throwing stones around. They were guests of the hotel and there is CCTV everywhere but they werent told off. Check in was simple - a very small, shabby looking reception area. The lady was polite and friendly. We were told that we had to pay an extra 90cents per person per night tourism tax - not included in the price online! And we had also booked breakfast for 2 adults (7.50 each a day) but as our son is 14 we needed to pay for him too - the younger children were free! In total, this added about 35 euro onto the quote given. We were given a room key and made our way up the very dark hallway to the second floor. This is a hotel where you have to switch lights on as you go so do take time to familiarise yourself with the light switches. I have to say, first impressions weren't great and i did feel a little scared and vulnerable in the corridors. Also, the smell of stale cigarette smoke in communal areas is horrid. Our room was basic but appeared clean. We had a quint room so there was a double (not two singles pushed together) bed, about 2ft from the ground, and in a second part of the room, 3 single beds. There was also a travel cot which was a pain as it took up room but we used it to put clothes in! The bathroom was very small and dated, and nothing like the pictures we had seen when we booked - no glass shower screens, more like a blue NHS shower curtain. The bathroom furniture was yellow/orange and looked very 1970s. We unpacked and walked down to reception to sort out some food. This is what really lets the hotel down. There is no bar/restaurant and there is nothing very close by! the reception lady was helpful and directed us to a fast food joint but we chose to look on trip advisor and found a restaurant (a lovely restaurant in the Hotel Kyriad, where we immediately wished we were staying!) I have to say, we all slept well. The main bed had 2 very thin pillows on it and a sheet and a blanket but i was warm enough. The kids beds were very comfy - memory foam mattresses. The heating in the room is a storage heater under the window which you can't have on when curtains are shut - nothing to tell you this, just use common sense! Breakfast was VERY basic. VERY!!! It was yoghurt, croissant, pain au chocolate, a coffee machine (luke warm and VERY strong), some rubbery cheese and some ham. There were some fruit teas also. We had croissants and yoghurt each day but i really didn't think a pain au chocolate, a croissant and a fromage frais was worth 7.50! There were no staff members in breakfast and no one told you what to do or where anything was - we had to hunt for plates, extra spoons etc. The hotel itself offers easy access to Disney - which was the purpose of our trip. It took us 20mins. about 5mins of this is navigating through town but the rest was another easy road. (there's a toll road, 2.10 each way to get to disney) When we got back at night, it was annoying that there was nowhere to get a drink - a fridge sold small bottles of Heineken for 2.50 a bottle and 1.5l of water for 2.50. There was a vending machine with chocolate (Snickers, Bueno, M&Ms) for 1.70 a bar. Although i was disappointed when we arrived - in fact i was gutted when i saw the room - we had a pleasant stay. We literally slept, had breakfast, left each day. The shower was rubbish in the room - when you turned it on, it fired everywhere and flooded the bathroom so you had to stand in the tray and hold it!. Upgrades need to be done on the bathrooms, the lighting (3 lights in the room, all side lights) and access to sockets & mirrors. They could also make the windows safer - they open wide and someone could easily fall out. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay to visit Disney, this place is fine. If you want luxury, pay more money!!! £248 for 3 nights for a family of 5 is good value but next time we would book the Kyriad - not only was it more modern and cleaner looking, it had better facilities such as a bar and a restaurant! One positive - the hotel does have free WiFi that does work!

Very basic but good enoughWe chose this hotel because of its location near to Paris. The staff was friendly, the rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. The building is rundown and the location appears to be one where you might not want to go out alone in the evening.

Grim guests & poor facilitiesBooking this 'Hotel' was a mistake. It's in a grim part of town and some other 'guests' were loitering around the foyer area and dark stairwells listening to music playing out loud on their cell phones. The room was very basic and stank of stale cigarettes / a masking-fragrance. Shower was hot, but came out in a solid stream. Noisy during the night from the other 'guests' and a car park next door. The very few staff I encountered were actually quite friendly. Breakfast was ultra basic, but free internet worked OK. No kettle or room safe. Didn't feel safe enough to leave any valuables in room. Never staying here again.
