Nice, clean hotel with good serviceI stayed there for a week and the room was comfortable and clean. The have free WiFi that I tough was bit complicated (nothing too dramatic, you just have to register each time you open you computer... but still place to amelioration). The room come with a serve yourself continental breakfast, very useful for worker whom have to leave very early. There is an Tim Hortons and a super market nearby, just be careful, opening hours may vary from what you're used to. Otherwise, main seafood restaurant may be reach by foot easily with a 15 to 20 min walk, and the beach is just 5 min away. Price wise, this is probably not the most affordable sleeping arrangement you can find in town... there is plenty of "gites" all around the place, however in the hotel category the are well within the average for the town. Hope this help Martin

Not fancy but everything worked outEven though the building was a blocky modular construction thing that looked like it was built for workers, it was not out of place in Havre-Saint-Pierre. There's no sign out front. The reception area is not fancy. However, everything was modern and everything worked. Comfy bed, quiet room, clean, plenty of hot water. The wifi works fine once you figure out how to log on. If you want charm, check out the fishing boats, the tundra, the Mingan Archipelago. This place works great as a base of operations for your stay.

Institutional, depressing, barely basic.First, all the staff here were quite friendly, otherwise I'd have given this hotel a 1 (or zero if I could). It is an institutional building build from modular rooms with absolutely no thought to aesthetics. It's not even as nice as dormitories in which I've stayed. The carpet in the hallways is shredding, filthy, stained, worn... The breakfast is the whitest white bread and whitest white bagels I've seen in years...didn't try it but it was no doubt air bread, tasteless and hollow. Nothing warm for breakfast. Real yogurt in the fridge. OK that's a plus and also fruit. Cold cereals, milk, tiny jam in packages, same for peanut butter. The cafeteria/bar/breakfast room is institutional, linoleum floor, cheap tables and chairs. There must be a better place in town. Booking here was a mistake on my part.

Friendly and Clean HotelThe petite lady with long hair on reception was friendly and efficient. We were a family of 4 and she gave us a good sized room with a large bathroom. We stayed for 9 nights in August and cooked a number of meals on our own propane burners on the small balcony. The Fridge was larger than normal and was set to a cold temperature. The breakfast was included and consisted of cereal, bread, toast, yoghurt, juice, tea, coffee. All of it good quality. The clientele in summer is mostly tourists, outside of that it consists of people who work on projects in the area. We look forward to returning as the weather in August was 20 to 24 C, very comfortable as compared to over 30 C where we came from. The Mingan Archipelago is a National Reserve well worth visiting. While we speak French we noticed that all 4 people who work in reception do speak English.

Basic but CleanFrom the outside you could be put off as it looks a dull uninviting building. However inside it is pleasantly surprising. The rooms are very basic but exceptionally clean. Well done to the cleaner. There was an adequate continental breakfast and car parking outside. Good Wi-fi.
