LunchFound this place by chance after a trip to lands end. Excellent service with equally good food. I had the pie which was possibly one of the best.......ever! Spotlessly clean all round as well. Will definitely return when in the area.

Great hotel in a lovely little villageWe are actually still at this hotel as I am writing this. We booked for 2 nights as part of our Cornwall road trip. The hotel is situated in the lovely town of St Just. We are staying in room 4 which is on the 2nd floor - no lift but we need the exercise so not a problem for us. We booked a family room and its lovely. Everything is clean and well kept. The bathroom is HUGE! With a big bath and in bath shower. The bed is super comfy! There are tea and coffee facilities in the room as well as a flat screen TV. Breakfast was a choice of cooked breakfasts and a range of cereals and yoghurts. My boyfriend was even able to order an omelette which wasnt on the menu, it looked really good and he said it tasted great. I had the scrambled eggs which were really good! We also had their traditional Sunday roast lunch - I had beef and my boyfriend had pork, there was also a chicken option. Our lunches were really nice! We didnt have room for dessert but they looked yummy! There were also vegetarian options. The hotel was really busy for lunch, most customers were actually locals not people staying in the hotel. Which goes to show how popular they are. Their COVID measures have been really good. Hand sanitiser stations in every room, masks to be worn unless you are eating or drinking. There are also distance lines at the bar and in the restaurant so you know where to stand. Their beer garden is massive! Really nice to sit out there in the afternoons. I can see why it is award winning. I have seen quite a few dogs in the hotel which I love - you usually find dog guests are cleaner than human guests The hotel is in the perfect location to get to see many great sightseeing spots. Cape Cornwall is a 6 minute drive. Lands End took as 15 minutes to get to. We have also ventured out of other spots - everything is a short drive away. Parking at the hotel is free - there is a village car park directly behind the hotel, completely free all day, every day. Directly outside the hotel is the Market Square village which has pretty much has you might need for you stay: Pubs Supermarket Fish and chips Yummy ice cream A bakery, a pet shop, post office Overall, this is a lovely hotel, in a lovely village, in lovely Cornwall. I would highly recommend staying here and we would definitely come back the next time to venture to the area.

LOVELY RUN HOTEL/INNMy Sister and I had 3 nights at the Commercial, this Family run hotel headed up my Michelle, was very clean , very accommodating, made us feel very welcome, staff work very hard in these difficult times, and we felt very covid safe, there is also a lovely little garden, Cornish breakfast was Superb, and my sisters vegetarian was scrummy, the location is really good, St Just is a charming little town with a lot of history and a good base for visiting other areas of Cornwall,Thank you Michelle and your hardworking Team. Ps over the road there are icecreams like i have never tasted before ,

Brilliant thriving little hotelA repeat stay and it was lovely to be back. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable and warm. The breakfasts were very good and the evening meals even more so. The fish pie looked almost too god to eat but tasted even better. Good range of meals, no reduced covid menus here. Staff friendly and helpful. Good Wi-Fi in the main building but has always been a bit hit and miss in the conservatory, but as long as it's that way round it isn't an issue. The only slight downside for a visitor (but good for the hotel's survival do this is not a criticism) is that the bar is very much a locals bar but with 3 other bars within 2 minutes walk this is not a problem.

A bit disappointed this time around.I've stayed at the Commercial numerous times over the years and I managed to get a week's long booking in a "family room". However, I was a touch disappointed this time. For a weeks stay for 3 people, the room was very poky and. to be fair, somewhat overpriced for the size of room out of season (late October). The room was squashed-in by the en-suite leaving very small areas to move about in with a family. It was noisy too at times because the room above ours (No6) clearly had uneven or loose floorboards and the noise generated by the guests there was considerable. We could hear almost every word of their conversation almost as if they'd visited our room. So, sorry, not too happy about this overpriced stay.
