  Awesome stay

  I have been on a wind energy project and have stayed here the last couple weeks. What a great way to spend a night. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Rooms are large, clean and beds comfortable. Thank you! Will for sure be back?

  Beyond Disappointed

  I have been staying at The Econolodge in Yankton for a couple of nights each month for the past few years. Most of the clerks recognize me and say that "your info is saved in our system". Meaning that it is in their system that I have AAA and that I like a ground floor room. Well today, I was over charged as compared to the rate online and was not given a ground floor room. The lady said they did not have a ground floor room, but I had a friend call in and whoever answered the phone said they had one but they could not guarantee it. I have also stayed at E.L. and their sister hotels in many other towns and states. (We travel alot) Well after today, I will be breaking ties with this hotel chain because of the clerk I got today that gave me a raw deal. Obviously she doesn't care about treating their faithful guests in a loyal manner. I am a Gold Level guest that is going to a hotel chain that knows and understands how to treat their loyal guests. Hopefully Econolodge will get this lady trained properly before they loose more loyal guests like me.

  I may have to revise my conceptions of this brand

  I had expected small rooms with second-rate breakfast offerings, but it was not so. Spacious room, good lighting, effective temperature controls (which was very good since they apparently didn't see the cold front approaching and had summer-weight blankets in the bed! ). Room had both microwave and refrigerator. Multistory facility with elevator but limited ground floor rooms. Our advance request (twice) for ground floor could not be granted (they cannot guarantee ground floor rooms).

  Great Stay

  Stopped on our way to Sturgis for the bike rally. Great location very quiet staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will stay on our way back home, nice breakfast selection does have a elevator which was nice.

  No one was using masks

  A clerk from another hotel called to make our reservation. when we arrived the lobby had 7-10 people and no one was being safe distance or wearing a mask. Neither was check-in clerk wearing a mask. We did not take toom and left because we felt very unsafe. It looks like this hotel is used frequently by construction crews...which would not be a problem, but they were all socializing and not wearing a mask.
