Allowed me to make reservation with them them Knowing our flight came in at 11:30PM and told me they had shuttle for us.I went over and over with them how long our car would be there while we were gone. I expressed it would be the night of the 3rd at midnight, so 12am the 4th. The gentleman on the phone assured me no problem, the shuttle would be picking us up, just call when we got off the plane. We called and called and our numbers were ignored. I had a gentleman at the airport call and the front desk answered on the first ring. This should have been our first indication to get a taxi. The gentleman at the desk told the airport employee their shuttle only runs until 11pm Told him he would call me ASAP and the airport employee gave the front desk guy my number. We waited over half an hour and finally broke down and took a taxi costing us 25 dollars. The front desk clerk was Right there at the desk and told me he was sorry they only run until 11. I asked him why on earth after Knowing when our flight came in would he have NOT informed me the shuttle indeed would NOT be running at 11:30 pm ? He told me the shuttle driver left just a little bit ago.. .I asked him why he didn't answer our repeated calls yet answered a local number again.. I'm sorry... No. This was a disgrace and I obviously would have reserved a different hotel if he had been honest and told me when we were discussing flight times that the shuttle didn't run after 11pm. I am still waiting back for a call from corporate, which I highly Doubt I will ever receive.

Decent, easy, cheap, hotel w/ pool.3.5 - good, not very good. We came to Syracuse to go to see the sights and then chill in a hotel pool. This is the cheapest i could find with a large pool. They are currently renovating, so its bound to get better. Also the location in SYR is great, easy to get to destiny usa, or the highways. I really liked the set up, the hotel has a large courtyard in the middle with a big pool and a hot tub. Check in was easy, the staff were nice. We didn't see many staff around much. Just check in, check out, breakfast and there was a really nice bartender. The hot tub water probably needs to be changed. The room was fine, 95% clean. Comfortable beds ! Everything worked, but i think that they should install fans in all hotel bathrooms, they get so humid from the shower. Also it lacked towel bars to dry towels. The hotel is a bit not well-kept, there was some trash on the ground around the courtyard. The hallways smelt of fryer grease (2nd floor), but the room did not. One problem i noticed is the side door to the parking lot was unlocked and you didn't need a key card to get in . Sketchy. We are easy to please, we've seen worse, so this place was fine for us, except the security issue. You get what you pay for. We would return, and double check to see if the side door locks can only be accessed with a room key.

Warning!!!I am 60 yrs old and have traveled a fair amount throughout my life. This is quite possibly the most disgusting AND DANGEROUS hotel I have ever stayed in. While listed as a 3-star hotel it is not worthy of even 1. I arrived 4/26/20 for a 3 night stay. I was told at check-in that there would be no employee on property overnight and was handed a phone number to call if I needed anything. I inquired about cleaning protocol due to Coronavirus and was told that my room was cleaned that day. After probing further, the story changed and I was told that rooms are left empty for 24 hours after checkout then cleaned and left empty for an additional 24 hours before being assigned to a new guest. I headed to my room (with a mask on) and wiped it down as best I could with wipes and disinfectant spray...again, due to Coronavirus. My room, and the hotel as a whole, is old...tired... and very dirty. DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY! But...IT GETS WORSE! The following morning as I attempted to leave the hotel at 7:30 am, I found that SEVERAL exits including the two closest to my room ALONG with the MAIN ENTRANCE were LASHED SHUT with heavy wire cable! There was no front desk employee on duty so I proceeded to another door which simply wouldn't open, and then to a 5th door where I was able to finally exit. Now imagine for a moment... what would have happened if I, or any guest, had been awakened at 3am to the sound of a fire alarm, only to find the power out and the hallways filled with blinding and choking smoke. As I drove away, I found a police officer nearby and shared my concerns. I was told that he would notify the fire department. I retuned that evening and found that nothing had changed so I headed to the front desk to express my concern. The desk was unmanned but I eventually found "the" employee in a hallway. I explained that this was a potential "loss of life" fire hazard and was told that... "there are other exits in the building". Realizing that this employee "just didn't get it"...and had no desire to "get it"... I called police non-emergency to report the situation. The Sheriff's deputy that showed up is (as I later learned) a 20 year veteran of the force. You see a lot in 20 years as a police officer which is way I was so surprised by his reaction. He seemed SHOCKED! He radioed for fire department officials to come inspect the situation and they showed up along a township code enforcement officer. They, in my opinion, were NOT happy with what they found. I overheard what I believe was a chastising for this and possibly other code violation along with an admonition to fix the violations the following day. After returning to my room I received a call from the front desk telling me that I, along with other guests, were being relocated to rooms near a functioning exit. So, I set out to wipe down another room. It wasn't until the following morning that I came to learn that my second room...had NO HOT WATER. Nope...none, zip, zilch, not even a drop...zero! Upon hearing where I was staying my brother said, "did you have hot water?" Imagine my surprise! How did he know? Apparently, a number of people from his company stayed in the hotel about a month prior to my visit and had no hot water as well. Ya know...even if the doors functioned properly and the water was hot...there are still MAJOR ISSUES with this hotel. Issues like...carpet coming up and wall paper coming down, paint pealing and dust collecting, stained floors and moldy ceilings, broken ceiling tiles and broken lamps that just lean against the wall. And as for my mattress in room #2... well, that just forces you to roll to the middle of the bed...because it's that sloped. But the most disgusting thing of all...? Well, that would be the dried white "substance" on the bed skirt... ...in both rooms. And an update on those doors...? Another day has passed and they're still lashed shut! Are you surprised that this hotel disregarded the official order to rectify their safety violations? I'm not....because EVERYTHING screams that they just don't care. And that's disgusting too. Avoid this filthy "DEATH TRAP" at all cost!!

COVID-19 No Excuse for this place!I haven't been here for a number of years. It has changed hands and names (Holiday Inn, Doubletree) over the years, but it was always a good location and nice place to stay. Oh, what a surprise this time! This was my last leg of a long journey home from Florida. My first thought when I pulled into the empty lot was that it was closed! No, it wasn't closed just looked runned down and depressing. Oh well, how bad could it be? I went inside to the front desk behind plexiglass and zero atmosphere. Uh oh! The signs were up as pointed out by other Tripadvisors about not being attended at night, no services, etc., etc. I am sorry I did not read that review before I stopped here! Anyway I got my key and headed to the run down, stained carpet and badly need in updating suite. The fire alarm was beeping which I reported and the attendant replaced the battery. I also handed him the food that someone left in the refrigerator. Deep cleaning for COVID-19??? I Think not. Luckily my wife had a supply of hard to find wipes and sanitizer and treated the sheets and everything else that anyone would likely touch in the room! The appearance of the room was disappointing enough, but you could smell that animals were in this room previously. Now I understand that animals are allowed in this hotel, but you would think that they would reserve certain rooms for them. If they don't than a good hotel usually they have a deep cleaning process to take away the orders that animals will bring with them. Not here! There must have been a dog in previously because if it was a cat we would have had a real problem because my wife is allergic to cats! Shame on you management for being so inconsiderate! It was not like you did not have other rooms since I think we and maybe one more party were the only ones staying here. Check out was basically no attendant and a bowl of alcohol to drop my room key in. I was quite concerned when I left here because up until now I had not been sick during this crisis. Every Choice Hotel along the way were great experiences. Now I was heading home to self quarintine for 14 days, and since they were so lax in cleaning and upkeeping this room I am expecting the worse! You should be ashamed of yourself especially during this crisis. Obviously you do not care about your hotel or your customers' health!
