AVOID THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS -- THEY ARE CONDEMED BY THE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTI am DIAMOND LEVEL with Choice Hotels and stay at over 100 hotel nights a year on average working in the travel industry... and have never... EVER had an experience like what happened tonight at this property. We booked one night with 2 queen beds for December 21st back in late October 2020 with 12,000 Choice Points. We got a confirmation number and everything. No indication there were any issues. We pulled up around 8:00pm and the lights were on, including the sign from I-17. But we realized there were was something weird going on right away as the parking lot was completely empty. We figured maybe there was not a lot of people traveling because of COVID. We also noticed an orange sticker on the front doors, but thought maybe that was a sign saying to wear your mask, etc. So we got our bags out of the car and read the orange sign --- this property has been CONDEMED BY THE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT since September 17, 2020. Luckily, a maintaince man was walking in at the same time we pulled up. He explained that a sprinkler system broke back in September and that they have been closed for 4 months. I showed him my reservation (active reservation made on the web!!!) --- he said I wish I could help you out, but I am the only one here and do not have access to the computer system. He recommended I call Choice Hotels to get my points back and to check out one of other two local hotels. Luckily, the Days Inn & Suites had room for us as a late night walk-in... but still it was $102 we were not expecting to pay out of our pocket on this trip. EVEN WORSE --- a family of 8 came up right behind us as we were walking away --- they had 4 confirmed rooms booked for over $600... and were square out of luck. Maintaince man again said to them you would have to call the 800 number. WHY WOULD NO ONE FROM THIS PROPERTY CALL US AND MENTION THEY ARE CLOSED!!!!!!! I would expect this service from a cheap motel --- not a Diamond Level with Choice. I got out 12K point back and another 6K points for the inconvenience after sitting on the phone for over an hour with the Choice 800 line. They need to pull their franchise license for treating customers like this.

Stay somewhere elseWere not doing breakfast because of the whole Covid thing. Or masks apparently, despite all the signage the health dept must have forced them to put up. The kid at the front desk checking us in was clueless and maskless. And so was the maintenance man running around up in everyones business. Aside from the terrible management and clueless staff, your comfort here largely depends on how remodeled your room is. We had a mismatch of new and VERY old furnishings. The bathtub obviously hadnt been cleaned. The chair was disgusting. Walls were thin. Couldnt wait to leave.

DisgustingI am not one to leave reviews but this time is a must. The room was absolutely filthy. Dog hair covered the floor and bed. There was hair and dirt all over the sheets and white smeared stuff on the top cover. There were small shards of glass on one of the bed sheets! It was like this on both beds. The room smelled horrible as well. I have stayed in numerous places including comfort inns but have never seen a room like this. I would have thought they just missed the room but the beds were made and trash empty. The saving grace was the gracious male desk clerk who gave us a full refund and apologized.

no Covid precautions except to deny customers serviceThey do not follow Covid protocol except when it comes to denying guests proper service. I saw 4 employees while I was here for 2 days and only ONE of them wore a mask! My TV did not work. Maintenance guy came but did not wear a mask nor did he sanitize the remote or the TV after trying to fix it. He was not able to fix it but I didn't want him in my room any longer so I just said, "it's no problem." but it was a problem; I wanted to watch TV. But more than that, I wanted this maskless employee out of my room! The guy even coughed in my room - I'm not kidding! Very frustrating! Why is there no Covid protocol at this hotel? They won't serve a hot breakfast (as advertised) due to Covid, they won't even serve coffee, but their employees walk around without masks? All of the guests (except one) wore a mask. I din't want to stay here a second night but I prepaid for two nights. Mistake. I will say that the room looked clean and the bed was comfortable. 2nd night: Woke up at midnight with very loud thump against my wall from hallway and several people having a conversation. I called the front desk (my room was within sight of the front desk) but no one was answering. I called three times in 5 minutes and never got anyone to pick up the phone. Their "grab and go" breakfast is a joke. We've stayed at IHG branded hotels and they either serve coffee, hot breakfast, or a nice selection of "grab and go" foods. This place had a mealy apple, a granola bar and a juice. Not even bottled water. I would not stay here again and I would advise all visitors to stay away as long as the employees do not follow Covid protocols.

Only OKI stayed in this hotel a month ago on my way to Tucson. I walked in, booked a room and received a AAA discount for a total of $111 for one night. It was very busy so I felt lucky to get a room. On my way back north I thought I should book ahead since Id be arriving on a Friday evening. I googled the comfort inn camp verde & made sure it was the comfort inn website. Got reservations & booked a room. I later saw on the email confirmation I booked with a third party called Getaroom. My bill was for $91 plus $58 taxes & fees! Comfort Inn gets low marks for this. Also tonight I noticed quite a bit of unrepaired damage to walls, baseboards, walls and floors. The first room I was given smelled like a smoking room, so I requested a change which I received, no problem. The place feels a bit run down, not worth what I was charged.
