  Medium overall quality for the price

  We stayed at the hotel for two nights. In general, the place is beautiful and the view of the hotel idyllic. The personel was very helpful and polite. When we arrived, we were offered a bottle of wine and something light to eat. However during our stay we encountered some disadvantages which were unacceptable especially for the price. Fistly, we were asked to pay the whole amount the moment we arrived and only leave the extras for the last day. Also, in our room we had two baths. If you used the showers simultaneously, the second shower did not work properly and changed from boiling hot to freezing cold from one moment to another. The room did not have natural cooling and the air condition was working constantly which was not expected at all given the eco-character of the hotel. In addition, there were some disfunctions in the design. The access to the beach was given by a slippery ramp. Also in our room and in some public stairs, the height of the steps was not equal in all the steps. Lastly, the floor and tables in the breakfast area were not so clean. Overall, the quality provided was medium in comparison to the price which is significantly high.

  A quiet summer getaway where time seems to stop

  We came here for a week of blissful dolce far niente by the beach, and Serifos as well as Coco-Mat absolutely delivered the goods! What a place and what an island! The secluded location in a cove with its stunning beach and breathtakingly crystal clear waters, the chic but understated design of the former mine-houses turned gorgeous rooms, the (first somewhat cautious then) friendly and helpful staff, the generous and laid-back feel of the whole hotel simply spoke to us. We spent a wonderful late summer holiday at Coco-Mat and even got lucky with relatively wind-still days. Having said this, we are young and easy-going and didnt mind that despite advertising itself as a lone luxury hotel in a private cove, it isnt completely secluded but shares a beach with a few holiday apartments with some still being built, that the organized beach didnt come exactly staffed to take drink or food orders, or that the steep pathway to the beach and, generally, all facilities arent quite made for elderly or handicapped people. However, we loved it and would definitely recommend and consider coming back!

  A fabulous resort with it's own beach in a beautifully secluded spot

  The Coco Mat Residences are a great find. Traditional miners cottages which have been renovated in an upmarket style whilst retaining a minimalistic feel. The place overlooks a picturesque bay and has its own beach. Service is outstanding, and a great selection of high quality food is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The island itself looks unspoilt and traditional as it has not (yet) been overrun by tourists. The main town and port is about 15 minutes drive away, and has a number of good cafe's, restaurants and bakeries If you want to find a secluded getaway in a pristine, unspoilt environment, this is the place.

  Hmmmmm . Not worth the money

  First the positives: wonderful views, and friendly helpful staff. Then: dont stay here unless you have a car. There is nothing nearby or within walking distance. The beach at Vagia is stony . ( there is a lovely sandy beach, Ganema, 5 mins walk ) Food is just ok. Small portions, and expensive, but you have nowhere else to go! Also, there isnt much choice. The rooms are nice, but I cant understand why coffee/ tea arent provided ( I had a full kitchen, oven, kettle, with no mugs or saucepans) . Everywhere else we stayed in Greece, even the most basic rooms, we received coffee, even biscuits. There is nothing to do here, which can be relaxing, but I feel they need to provide something to attract visitors, or to justify their prices!

  Amazing experience!!!

  We found this wonderful place on TripAdvisor, communication with the front desk was very good and easy. We stayed there for 4 days last August. Breakfast was rich, staff and reception very polite. The room had a great view and was by the sea. If we visit Serifos again it will be our first choice.
