  I feel like there were more negatives than positives, so let's start with them. Firstly, we were initially put in a tiny room with a balcony so small you couldn't even fit two feet on. We raised this with the reception and they could only move our rooms the next morning which they did, that's fine. Our next room was better, however our shower bracket on the wall didn't exist, and the shower door came off the rails when I opened it - this was soon fixed however. A few days later, our aircon broke during the night so we woke up boiling hot. We headed out at 9, and asked the reception to fix this and clean our room. We returned at 5.30 and neither of these had been done. We only had our room cleaned twice during our 7 night stay, and both times it had been done, it was because I had to ask at least 3 times before it got done. Food and drink was okay. Breakfast was horrible, but lunch and dinner were fairly nice. Half the food wasn't edible, half was nice. Desserts were disgusting - cakes marinated in syrup. Drinks were coke, fanta, sprite, soda, beer, gin, vodka, rum. Beer was often flat and not that cold, and pretty sure gin was watered down. Who I think was the main manager was useless. Every time I raised an issue with my room, it didn't get done - he seemed pretty rude and uninterested. When we departed, he didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our stay, nor did he wish us a safe journey home. Pretty much topped it off on his behalf and on behalf of our room. Now for some positives... Firstly, 5 stars to Murat, who's the man for sorting day trips out. Absolutely fantastic guy, extremely friendly and a great laugh. We found ourselves drinking with him at the bars over the road a couple of times - he's worth making good friends with. The bar staff are all young and friendly, and do a great job of keeping the dining and pool areas clean and tidy. The hotel as a whole is actually quite nice, the rooms just need a serious renovation and a useful cleaner. Location is perfect, we were right amongst some brilliant bars with friendly managers, we spent a lot of time there and at the beach, which is just around the corner. All-in-all, we loved Gumbet, Bodrum and would definitely return, just at a different hotel. The price we paid was great, but I'd much rather pay a little more for a manager that cares and staff that get things sorted upon the first time of asking. Not the third or fourth. I've never stayed anywhere where I've actively had to ask for our room to be cleaned each time, let alone asking countless times. Just made things a bit of a hassle. But yeah, it's a great area and I'd love to return to a different hotel. I'll try and leave reviews of some of the places we visited and hope it can be of help.

  Went on holiday with my daughter for her 19th birthday. The day we got there we was put in a room on the other side of building with no WiFi or anything, toilet stank,booked a double twin but got a single twin. After complaining we got moved the next morning after waiting several hours. Wasn't the best of rooms but ok. Food was same everyday nothing new or different. 3 days after being there coke ran out and didnt come back until the day we left. Rooms are not clean. Bathrooms stink. Showers are dirty. No entertainment at hotel. Went all-inclusive but spent a fortune eating out as food was like hospital food (well even hospital food is better) no security so anyone can walk in and walk around as seen many people do that who were not staying at hotel. staff was amazing and helpful. Didnt see any management.I wouldn't go back again. Its not even worth 1 star

  Happy to come back again

  Overall were happy with the visit. We arrived at night and had requested 2 rooms next to each other but were given 2 on different floors and the air condition wasnt the best. We spoke to them the next morning and they changed our room, we still werent next to each other but we were very happy with the rooms. The female receptionist Seyeda was so lovely, very helpful and always smiling. The food was also very nice and constant variety in main dishes. The staff in the restaurant were very polite and constantly cleaning the tables, were always paying attention.

  Dated, Covid measures very poor, food lukewarm and repetitive. No food labelling at all.

  Very disappointing. Issues throughout the visit. Covid response and measures abysmal. Currently on the third day of an issue with the AC. First day, no one showed up, second day an employee who clearly could not fix the issue looked at it, then said he was going to the outside of the building to check something did not return. After an hour we found out he had gone home without telling us or the management (allegedly) about the ongoing problem. We were told that an engineer would be coming today (no show yet) It is in the mid thirties in Gümbet and has been for the past week and forecasted for the next week. Sleep very difficult etc. THIS IS A PRELIMINARY REVIEW! DETAIL AND PHOTOS TO FOLLOW OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS!!!!

  Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!

  1st room we were given was a hovel, smelled of must and damp, a/c unit was ancient with wires hanging out, didn't work. No balcony, terrace or windows low enough to escape out of if there was a fire at the entrance door. Bathroom window sealed up with cement. Dirty, mouldy, shabby, disgusting. Complained, got moved day after to slightly better room but nowhere near as described on loveholidays. Food bland, always cold, repetitive. Cold meats, chips/wedges, salad and hard boiled eggs for breki. Went all inc but ate out 90% of the time. 2 pools were OK and clean. Reception area very shabby with really dirty white sofas. Lots of electrical wiring visible around the hotel. However, most of staff were helpful and hardworking, felt sorry for them. Didnt see a manager once. Bar ran out of beer/wine daily. Vodka watery. No other spirits except Raki. Dead plants in hanging baskets all round bar area and music blasting out at full volume most of the day, even in eating area. No gym, salon, Turkish bath as advertised. However, met some lovely people and the weather, beach, sea were lovely. Bitez is a small resort a 5 min taxi ride away for £2.20 and is well worth a visit. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. I would rate it as a 1 star and that's being generous. We paid over £500 each to go here so was expecting more. Have complained to loveholidays both in resort and when home. Let's see what they have to say....
