    underwhelming in every way.

as other people have mentioned the really unfriendly gentleman who is on reception during the day, i dont feel so bad about also reviewing how rude and unhelpful he was to me. for a start, he was angry because i asked him for change to pay the taxi, then he asked where the rest of my party was, and when i said it was just me, he said in disgust 'but you have booked a 2 bedroom villa!!!' yes, indeed, i had, and i paid for it too! he just put my key on the top of the desk and pointed down the street. told me that the hot water switch was at the top of the stairs, and that i wasnt to leave it on for more than a hour, as it was very expensive! so much for the welcome! the villa was actually really nice, really comfy bed, secluded terrace, good wifi signal and lots of towels and blankets. but the kitchen was just so badly equipped...there wasnt even a dishtowel or a pan scrubber, there were no condiments of any kind, not even salt and pepper, the kettle had a european plug with no adaptor when cyprus has 3 pin like the uk, and there was a microwave, but not one dish i could find that you could put in it. obviously, i was too scared to go and ask the man at reception, so i just carried on. there is a little shop in reception, which i only used a couple of times, as it was low season, and it didnt have much in it, but i did buy some cans of beer, and as there was no one there, i left a note, with the money and my room number. the said gentleman almost ran after me, and quite obviously wanted to search my bag..i mean, im a middle aged woman, did he really think i was going to steal beer??? well, apparently. so much for the good news....hahaha im not a breakfast eater, so i didnt bother with that, but i did get a bus up to northern cyprus, and when i returned, i was really hungry, and as the hotel is quite remote, up on the hill, i decided just to have dinner in, as i was leaving the next morning early for the airport. i can honestly say, this was possibly the worst buffet dinner i have ever had. it was only 10Euro, but honestly, apart from the salad, there was barely and edible thing there. even the potatoes were soaked in grease, burned on the top, but soggy and uncooked underneath...i mean, who doesnt know how to cook a potato. the calamari was so similar to elastic bands, i couldnt even cut it with my knife, and even the corn and rice werent cooked properly. the bread was stale, sliced and out of a packet, and to top it off, the wine was out of a 3 LT box that had obviously been open for some time. and the staff sat and had dinner at the same time as everyone else, so there was no one behind the bar to give drinks. just terrible service. when i left the old reception guy for once, almost smiled, and asked me how i had found the place. that is quite obviously his idea of service. maybe it is much nicer in the summer, but tbh, as i was pretty much made to feel like i was a real nuisance staying there, i would never return. MEH!

    Worst hotel.

The reception is not helpful nor wants to help, when asked where can we eat he had no solution for us as we dont have a car, simply said 10 minute walk didnt give us any other instructions. He also said we cant have WiFi unless we are in the public area but this place is deserted and the company is unpleasant. We had to walk an hour and a half to find somewhere to eat, walking along the road watching out for cars as the club st George is no where near anywhere. The bar staff were rude, had drinks advertised but when asked for such drink they told us no. We picked about 3 and all 3 drinks were not available. Cracks in our sink. Buildings are not looked after. Pools are dirty with stains on the floor. I wouldnt recommend this as a holiday destination anywhere else is better, seriously.

Not a four star it's a 2 star!! (I am being nice about this too) UNWELCOMING AND VERY DIRTY

Arrived at reception with no friendly welcome. Room was okay but there was always this damp mould smell in the toilets and inside the wardrobe. The bathroom ceiling was full of mould and the room itself was not very clean. Found so much dust and hairs on beds. As for the breakfast, it is terrible!! Everything always cold and no good selection. It seems like the photos posted on various travel websites have been all photoshopped and it looks NOTHING like it in real life so for those who are considering to come here I would say with a resounding NO! it's a waste of money. The lounge area very outdated, decors do not match but as for the coffee machine it's dirty and looks like it's from the 1980's. The shop is not stocked given that it is a "mini market". The gym was very dirty and messy. It seems like this hotel is very poorly maintained and i woudnt recommend anyone to come stay here. The area is quite deserted with no wifi except for public area such as the lounge area. Despite the modern name that it has there is nothing modern or trendy about this hotel and i would stay far away and book elsewhere. On paper it sound s like a great option but after staying for 4nights I'll give it a 2 star and I'm being nice about this.

As entered the main entrance a old guy with a face like hermun munster gave me my keys, but no direction to my apartment. I found it by asking at the bar where i met a guy called Michael he owns a villa up at thd bay and you would find him at the pool bar as thats where he would habe his snacks. The restaurant was a shambles food cold, and burnt, I paid for bed breakfast and evening meal but as it was winter season no evening meal was available The only morning i did have breakfast they charged me 3 euro Michael advised me to get snacks from pool bar At the pool bar the toasties were hot and delicious and served with loads of salad, also so was the cheese and ham omelette So i stuck to having snacks by the pool bar The polish girl who worked there asked me not to tip her she was wonderful, she said all tips are put in a glass to be shared with other bar staff at the end of the night But at end of the night herman munster would take them all and she also worked lots of hours doing split shifts and was getting paid less than minnimum wages The bar wasn't that expensive for drinks or snacks. I asked hermin how to get imto city centre( as thats where all my friends were staying,) there was no food being served in the evenings so it was either shop at the mini market where everything came in tins and you couldn't possibly cook as there was no kitchen utensils, pots or plates, eat at the pool snack bar or go to paphos center Hermann munster said in his best english that there was no bus service during winter season, that i would have to take the hotel taxi (had to be the hotel taxi as no taxi service would go up there as to far out of paphos) and ut would cost me 50 euros I went back to the pool bar feeling deflated, i was going to walk, The polish girl working at the snack bar said go out of the resort and meet me at the Chappel, which i did and she gave me a lift into paphos!!! I was told not to tell anyone, or she would loss her job, She gave me michaels phome number and said phone him before midnight, tell him what bar you are at and what time you want to be picked uo and his father will come in looking for you I was expecting just to crash at my friend's villa that night But sure enough he came in and held a card with my name on it He charged me 5 euros and would not take a tip ( he is from Liverpool) His son Michael showed me the best and cheapest restaurants to eat at for 20 euros (a bit expensive) i ate lobster with loads of salad Steak another night and salmon another night all fresh caught and cooked!!! Nobody in the resort was helpful at all, they had no patience, i only booked at last minute as beech holidays came up with a affordable price, i booked for the week, my friends only booked for 4 nights as they just travelled for the football i spent other nights by myself taking to others and eating bar snacks and relaxing by the pool or on my balcony with beers i bought in phaphos centre The polish girl made a point of always trying to speak to me often getting into trouble for it The accomidation was old so i expected the creaking pipes and the smell of dampness, my shower didnt work properly it was freezing I soon learned that the water provided to the bath and shower was heated up through the night so to get a nice bath or shower best time was early morning, because once the hot water tank goes cold so does the shower. Herman munster asked me if he could book me a taxi to the airport i said no thank you as the Polish girl arranged to meet me at the Chappel and take me to phaphos where i caught the shuttle bus that cost me 2 euros She cried as I left because i gave her a thank you card and out 30 euros inside it, (less than what i would have left in tips throughout my stay) St georges bay is 8km by the crow, to walk to paphos you go round windung twisting roads and will find by walking its around 12 miles If its a break in phaphos your looking for this place is not for you also there is no entertainment of any sort here, If its a quiet relaxing holiday to get away from hustle and bustle come welk equiped plastic plates, and cuos, buy your spirits from duty free and pay for transfers Then i recomend it. But go to phaphos at least once for a excursion to cleopatras stone and go to a restaurant same day, before heading up to st georges have a walk along the front if Michael, his dad ( the chauffeur) and the young Polish girl wasn't there to give me advice i would have given this place a 1 But now i know better, i would go and soend a week there lazing in the balcony or by the pool bar soaking up the sun!!!

    Lack of communication

Unfortunately we were unable to make our trip to Cyprus this year due to COVID. I cancelled my booking in June and the lady Alina advised I would receive a full refund. I chased again in July and she advised it could take a while, as they had many refunds to do (which I understood due to the circumstances). I chased again in October however I have not received a response for over a week, I have chased every day, multiple times a day!! I called them last Friday, they advised they would call me back but again, no one did. I must say, I think its highly unprofessional that no one has got back to me. I dont like to complain, but I have chased many times and I dont know how else to get a response at this point. VERY bad communication!! 4 months for a refund is not acceptable or any sort of explanation!!
