Turismo familiar.

Friendly, quiet, relaxingWe had a lovely week at Baia Aranzos and were sad to leave. The room was big, spotless, cool and quiet. We slept so well that we almost missed breakfast most days! Our terrace was large and surrounded by beautiful flowers with a fantastic view, we couldn't fault it. We were adjacent to the playground and mini club building but they were very quiet and caused us no problems. The pool was sparkling and clean and we had a great time playing in it. It was pretty quiet until around 4pm but even then it didn't get too over crowded. Shade is limited but there isn't much competition for it so we always got a nice shady spot to relax in. The entertainment is in Italian so we couldn't understand it all but we did enjoy the singing and the magic show. Our daughter enjoyed the daily baby dance and playing with the entertainment staff in the pool. Particularly with Andrea who made a great effort with her and was really good fun for the younger children. As adults, the entertainment staff largely ignored us until our last couple of days but I guess that was due to the language barrier. The food was nice enough for all inclusive in a less commercialised resort. The vegetarian in our group had very limited and repetitive options but if you like pesto pasta and caprese salad, you'll be fine! There were other choices dotted throughout the week but not many. There were, in fact, plenty of potentially delicious vegetarian options but they seemed to put ham in everything. They will sometimes serve individual portions without the ham if you ask. Another guest at the hotel was vegan and they did attempt to cater specially for her which was nice, if, again, a little repetitive. The bar was fine, but the staff were a little grumpy and tight with the measures - beer is served in half pint glasses and one at a time, but you can go back as often as you want (until 10pm) Management staff in Reception were friendly, helpful and welcoming. They all knew our daughter's name and made us feel very welcome. Particularly Gandhi who our little girl loved and still talks about! The location of the hotel is pretty isolated. The hotel beach (which is small but, in our opinion, lovely, natural and very safe for children) is about a 10 minute walk away. Another, bigger, slightly busier beach is about a 10 minute free shuttle bus ride away. Both lovely. The bus stop to the 2 local towns is around 1.5km away so we decided to hire a car for a day (70 including child's car seat arranged through Reception) and do a little driving tour of the area. The driving is hair raising but definitely doable and something you get the hang of. We visited Golfo Aranchi, Porto Rotundo (absolutely beautiful), Porto cervo and Olbia. We would have liked a little longer to explore in each place but they were all very nice to see. If we had had another day with the car we would have gone South to see the flamingos at the nature reserve and explore that area. We did go down to the hotel beach and take a dolphin watching trip. We were lucky and saw lots of great dolphin action with a family jumping and putting on a fabulous display. I didn't like the fish farm aspect of the experience, but I guess that's why the dolphins were there in the first place so... We went with Thomas Cook and the prices of their day trips was high and, unless you really like seeing different beaches, seemed a bit monotonous to us. Overall, we had a lovely holiday at Baia Aranzos. You have to be willing to relax and take it slow (or hire a car), take a couple of good books, plenty of sun cream and your swimming costume - very little other luggage is required! Thank you for a great holiday! Steve, Steph and Ivy

Lovely escapeI really enjoyed my stay here and would come again! Peaceful retreat away the grounds where stunning and in full bloom, the staff where very friendly too and made everything very welcoming. The first night we arrived late (around 12am and had our meals plated up for us, as a vegan i found it very difficult to eat on this occasion as everything it pretty much cheese or meats... so i picked the carrots and mushrooms out for my dinner. When we told the waitress that i couldnt eat it, she simply said that it would be a problem and offered no alternative and walked away. My sister is vegetarian and also found it difficult however the manager was made aware and did as much as possible to accommodate going above and beyond so i didnt just have to have the soup each night. Dinner is served from 8pm which i find quite late however this may just be italian culture. There was also an issue with wasps which cant really be helped. The staff tried to be asnaccomodating as possible. I do think the restaurant needs a little updating. There is a shuttle bus which takes around 10 minutes to the furthest of the 2 beaches which is a public beach with stunning white sands and the secon is the hotels own private beach which is a 20 minute walk in the heat but only a few minutes in the heat and definately worth it. There was some disagreement with what was all inclusive with the only drinks this covers is the soft drinks, local white and red wine, larger and Mirto. If any cocktails are wanted then they have to be paid for woth drinks ranging from 5-7 each. This was slightly disappointing and sometimes orange juice was included and sometimes they wanted us to pay which was confusing. The entertainment is all in Italian and even a game of bingo is impossible to keep up with if you cant speak the language. The animation team did help with this though. The pool area was clean and tidy and rooms were just fine! Thank you for a lovely holiday xx

stay away if your BritishWorst hotel we have ever stayed in, staff heavily biased in favour of Italian guests. We arrived late and after checking in and finding our room we and another couple decided to have a drink in the bar, which because of the ridiculous "all inclusive" hours we were asked to pay for which we did, 10 euro for 2 small beers, and our friends 20 euro for a bottle of cheap wine. While sitting in the bar we noticed that nobody else was being charged for drinks, and on complaining to the girl behind the bar we were told it was because they"did not speak english"?. This is blatant discrimination against British guests, and upon complaining to the manager via our rep,we were fobbed off with a promise he would nvestigate, but he never bothered to get back to us. The evening entertainment consisted of childrens disco every night until approx 11.30pm. All entertainment was in Italian, and no attempt was made to include other nationalities. We also witnessed Italians receiving free drinks in the bar after all inclusive had finished on many other occasions, but British guests always were asked to pay,WHY?

Sept 2018We have just returned from a week at this hotel and had a lovely time. It was spotlessly clean and the room was spacious and well decorated. The food was excellent and the restaurant staff were helpful and welcoming. The pool was fabulous and the larger of the two beaches was wonderful with clear blue, tranquil seas. It was a little remote and the entertainment was all in Italian but that apart we had a wonderful relaxing week. Thank you.
