Long but honest review - not negative!!Myself and a friend are 20 and 23 years old and visited Akyarlar for a relaxing holiday and hoped for a few nights of partying as well. We managed to have an amazing time chilling by the pool and visiting markets/Bodrum town centre in the day and also had two trips to Gumbet bar street so we could experience the night life too. When reading up about the hotel beforehand, we were worried due to the reviews we had seen however we were then surprised once we arrived at the hotel. The hotel was a lot better than previous reviews have made out and the location isn't actually as bad as we expected. If you enjoy being in the centre of everything then it may be a struggle however there is a constant shuttle bus that runs to the local towns and takes 10-30 minutes depending on where you want to go. When we arrived, the receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. His name was Atif and he looked after us our whole holiday. We emailed the hotel beforehand and asked for a sea view room and upon arrival our name was recognised and we were given exactly what we requested. It was beautiful!! The rooms themselves are not great, bit dull and empty, however we didn't spend much time in the rooms and once we had unpacked they did feel a bit more cosy. The food in the hotel was good but very repetitive. The food was always cooked well and I never worried about eating something that would give me an upset tummy. The breakfast however needed more of a range. It was lots of bread and hard boiled eggs plus your typical cheeses etc. As a fussy eater, I skipped breakfast everyday because of this. Although this was the case, at 11 o clock every day, a small area by the pool opened up and served pita. Some days the pita was filled with potato, others spinach and we also had a day with vegetable pita too. This was amazing and my friend and I chose to eat this everyday at 11 instead of breakfast. The views in the hotel are amazing and sunbathing facing the sea is absolute heaven. There are always sunbeds available and a range of places to sit and relax. The staff are friendly, polite and cannot help you enough. A majority of the staff ask your name when they first meet you and they remember it throughout the holiday. I found this very welcoming. The entertainer played games with us at the pool bar and took us to bar street in Gumbet two nights in a row as this is the place with the best night life in the area. He knew exactly where to take us and we had two amazing nights!! One of the nights there was a few of the hotel guests who were interested in the trip to Gumbet however one night no one from the hotel wanted to go and Emre took us anyway. He didn't have to do this and we thought it was very sweet of him. The bar staff are helpful too however most do not speak English. As we love experiencing the culture, this is not a problem to us. We enjoyed trying to explain ourselves and also learning the language as well (keshagud eduram - I believe this is thank you). To get to Bodrum, there is a bus that goes past the hotel every 20/25 minutes and costs 6 lira which is about £1.50/£2. It takes 30 minutes and the street is full of restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. There is also a few clothes shops too. The atmosphere is lively and it always seemed busy. It was a nice afternoon out however it didn't take us long to shop and eat so I would recommend going late afternoon (the shops don't shut until 12 anyway). Turgetreis is the opposite direction and so the bus picks you up from the other side of the road. This bus was 3 lira and it took about 10 minutes. The town was full of shops, market stools, restaurants etc and we also saw a McDonald's, Burger King and dominos! The market in Turgetreis is on Saturday and is a good experience. Me and my friend went and bought bags, purses, watches, shorts all for very cheap. You must remember to haggle as they like to double their usual price to start with and will most likely accept less than half by the end of your conversation. There a lots of stools selling the same thing so don't let anyone rip you off. All in all, my friend and I had an amazing holiday and I think the reviews posted on here are slightly inaccurate and gives the hotel a very bad reputation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't have to moan once!

Beautiful sea.Our 3rd visit this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the location of hotel is fantastic, sea is very very nice that's why we go there again and again, will be there next year too. The food was always fresh and we loved kind of pitta or pancakes called pide or gozleme were very nice, always fruit and cakes were available and 5 o'clock tea and cookie time was our kids favorite . Best hotel for families, we had a great week.

I was on 22 September 2015 when a big rainfall take place in Bodrum.Except the difficulties with the ferry at Chanakkale and the moody weather, that trip was average good. I visited the hotel for second time - the first was in Jun 2013, Then were moor people. It was not so quiet. Two-try times there were attractions with turk dances. The staff was very kindly. In the last time all was very simple. The food was a little easy. So then definitively I had moor sufficiency.

the hotel needs renovationThe hotel is situated in very quiet location, so if you want to run away from typicall resort's atmosphere this hotel is good for you. On the other hand the hotel, the room etcp. needs to be improved. We stayed at some outhouse which didn't looks nice but finally it turned out the rooms was much more modern than in the main facilities of the hotel. So the view was nicer. The hotel has a nice pool area and amazing view on Samos island. The beach area is stony. The food is average.

Get a good deal and you'll love it!If you can get a good all inclusive package then you'll love this place, really friendly staff, decent drinks, average food. Right on its own private beach. Some will say that it needs attention and I guess yes it probably does but with the right deal I would rather stay here than in some tower block in Benidorm! It has all the ingredients of a great holiday its just that you have to make it work by enjoying free drinks, free food, hot sun, clear blue water etc....if you can do that then your on to a winner!
