  No hot water

  Reported no hot water when I arrived reported it the next morning barely lukewarm. Tryed to get different room said no. Great view an private location but toooo busy to care . Dont use hotels.com tryed to cancel too late

  Great location, however...

  Probably the best location for a beach hotel for hundreds of miles. You can literally throw a rock into the ocean while dining poolside. The restaurant on the premises offers good food at reasonable prices. The vibe is laid back. However, the walls are so poorly insulated that I don't recommend it if you are an early-bird who likes a quiet night of sleep. I was able to easily hear the TV of the people next door. Also, if you stay on the bottom floor, you can hear the people upstairs walking around. Lastly, the WiFi signal is so weak that you may not be able to connect during prime time. Putting a little more money into this property will go a long way.

  Quaint

  Older hotel, but clean and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast is not bad for a continental. Even though the rooms have an ocean view the hallway walkways have people passing by, so you have to keep the sheer drapes closed if you want privacy.

  The BIGGEST SCAM IN HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  An absolute scam. This place edits the photos. You are NOT on the beach. Past the pool its a bunch of rocks than water. No where to sit out and tan. There's kids screaming by the pool The room has no air conditioning. No fan. The power outlets don't work. The room smells like mold. Hot and stuffy. My girlfriend got me this room as a bday gift getaway. We were so hyped. We brought everything. Towels to tan. Snacks. Outfits to exercise on the beach together early morning while the sun rose above us. When we checked in, our jaws dropped. It was NOT WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE Her eyes got watery. She said this can't be happening. I convinced her we had to checkout asap and book another room. We immediately drove to another hotel within two hours and it was SO MUCH BETTER. This place is a MASSIVE SCAM. DO NOT NOT NOT CHECK IN HERE. ITS A FRAUD. SOMEONE INVESTIGATE THIS PLACE FOR FALSE ADVERTISING. I attached pictures I took before we ran like Usain Bolt out of there $250 a NIGHT. Anything higher than 1 star is completely false. Go to a NICE HOTEL. Like Hampton Hilton. Put youtube on the tv. Find a video that has beach sounds. And you'll have a way better experience. I think these rooms were last renovated in 1973. Pathetic. Disgusting. False advertising. Weird Smell. overpriced. a scam. Check out those sexy stains in the carpet! Spread the word. It is a mirage. Check out the pictures of the awesome stains in the room! The moldy smell and hot stuffiness is a nice extra touch for 250 a night!

  You get what you pay for

  Living in Ventura we are very familiar with the Cliff House and Shoals restaurant. Both are a very good value when considering the spectacular setting...Food is consistently very good at the Shoals and reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly and efficient. The Cliff House is unique with is location right at water's edge. One can enjoy the breaking surf while enjoying a good reasonably priced lunch or dinner. Granted the Cliff House is showing its age and wear. Recent reviews comment about the need to upgrade and remodel the property. I won't refute those comments. However, where can one find a room at waters edge for less than $300. The location is the draw at the Cliff House and surely any major remodel and upgrade of the property would bring a substantial increase in room rates. If one wants a modern luxury hotel or inn near the beach one can go to Malibu or Santa Barbara and pay $800 plus a night for a room. As the saying goes you get what you pay for.
