Great Hotyel!I took an 8 strong group of people, British ex-Kure based `old soldiers`, a wife and a widow, to Kure in early November 2013. Accommodation, at the Hankyu Hotel, our hotel for 12 previous such tours being unavailable, I opted for the Clayton Bay. I must say that I was very favourably impressed! The rooms were large, (by Japanese standards),spotless and very well equipped. The staff were very helpful, friendly and anxious to help. Our included Western or Japanese buffet breakfasts were excellent and plentiful in the very pleasant restaurant. The only drawback was the distance of the hotel from the railway station. But, once we had located the difficult to find Clayton Bay Hotel bus stop, near to the station, we were able to use the free 1/2 hourly hotel shuttle bus which helped solve this small setback. I would certainly recommend this hotel and will have no hesitation in using it again for any future groups which I might take to Kure.

Cozy place to stay during kure visitThis hotel have 11storey with view overlooking navy port of kure, beautiful summer and good place to start sightseeing kure main attraction including Yamato museum , Old naval base building and short break for coffe at coffee beacon on the dock, then keep walking on the way to kure station for shopping at YouMe shopping mall and Crest department store then take the hotel shuttle bus back to the hotel with convenience.

Wonderful stay throughout my visitGreat place and great staffs ...Very accommodating to my requests. ALthough no Halal food in the hotel itself, they had prepare their best to single out my dishes to 'no pork, no lard' request which is very kind of them to do so. The rooms are definitely one of the nicest i have been in Japan which is very spacious and neat. Great for family also. Very nicely done up. Buffet breakfast spread was not too bad and also the dinner was nice too. Nearby the port and also the museums to visit if you have the time and they provide shuttle service to the museums as well. ALso there is a direct limo bus to Hiroshima airport too !

Further from Hiroshima than you need to beOk place if you pick the 'Japanese style' rooms ( the basic rooms are horrible) but certainly not close to Hiroshima - a good 45 minutes by train and easily 35 minutes by taxi (not 15 minutes as per their web site). Views are nice from the better rooms and some staff speak good English which helps. Easy walk to station (if you can't wait for the hourly shuttle bus) and room service menu in English which is good because very few restaurants are nearby
