    Do not recommend.

Staff is nice and hospitable, but the hotel is very run down. Seems clean at first, but when you start moving the curtains etc., you will feel a bit disgusted. Enormous amount of different bugs found. I understand the hotel cannot control the nature, but they should know that and at least put a bug net on the windows. Hot outside, only a fan in the room, with no possibility of opening a window because of before mentioned bugs. Then, noise from pipes or whatever it is. Whole night, actually 2 nights that I was there, had trouble sleeping because of the noise. And the worst part, the breakfast, if you can call it that. Would actually recommend going just to see what kind of mush is served for breakfast. A lot of choices, will give them that, but each more disgusting then the other.

    Don't go here!!

We booked this hotel after a month of camping in Europe to spoil ourselves, well this was a big mistake. It started with getting on the room and there was no toiletpapier to be found, then I hoped to have a nice and relaxing shower but also this was something that was not possible. I needed to hold the showerhead the whole time because the 'holder' was not even for that same showerhead. When my girlfriend tried it she got hit in the head with it because it fell down and while this was happening she almost cut her foot on the drain because of the drain cover was just laying loose on it and under it sharp edges of stone. After a shower you automatically step into a pool, really the designer of this bathroom was sleeping when he drew this. After all that we came back in our 'penthouse appartment' and wanted to cook our just in the grocery store buyed food..Also this was an impossible task because the electric hotplate was not working at all. (Yes you read this right, an electric hot plate in a penthouse appartement). Then after 1 night of sleep it almost looks like I've carried rocks up and down a hill for a day, that bad my back hurts because of it. (We slept for a month in a tent on a air mattress and we had nothing to complain). So with the little sleep that we had, we also got disturbed early in the morning by housekeeping knocking on the door. There was no doorhanger available in the room. With all this complains we went down again in the afternoon and the reception lady was even worse then hospitable or helpfull even. Her answer was, I don't know. And so on. For us 144,60euro for 2 nights is a lot of money, and we hoped to spend this on a nice place where we could get our rest. This was a big mistake and I hope nobody else is going to fall for this.

    Not good.

The hotel reception staff were great. The rest of the place was poor. The bed or mattress was very old and full of springs. The shower was handheld. with old support still on the wall but useless. The shower door was falling off. The key switch to the electricity was falling apart. Tv showed Hungarian programs only. The cleanliness of the room wasn't good. Breakfast wasn't great. Hungarian scrambled egg was there early, but not refilled and disappeared quickly. Yogurt in a large bowl in the fridge had a tide mark as it decreased every day. Two or three old bananas in the fruit dish. Two pots of jam refilled frequently with old jam down the sides of the containers. The situation was great of the dental practice I had to visit but that's all I could add on the positive side.

Out of the way and uncomfortable

The Classic Hotel was way out of the centre of Budapest, which we never told about. I am wheelchair bound (which they knew) and wheelchairs did not fit into the lift ( we were on the 3rd floor, a problem to say the least). The breakfast rooms were down flights of stairs (another problem), which the hotel seemed to stop serving at about 9.00a.m. as opposed to the advertised 10.00am. Our bath was out of order. Lets never go there again.
