Absolutely unacceptable in every wayThe hotel front appears to be boarded up; nothing like the online pictures. Theres a dimly lit parking lot in the back where you enter. The lobby smelled musty; the guy at check-in didnt speak much English; the elevator was slow & loud with a handprint on the wall (see pic). My room was gross. The door was hard to open & close. The curtains were coming off rod (see pic); no smoke detector (see pic); phone unhooked; stain on the sheet (see pic); sink had broken stopper and no soap (see pic); closet alcove light buzzed constantly; big hole in ceiling above the light (see pic); only 2 electrical outlets available in whole room; wallpaper peeling off everywhere; no mini-frig; carpet was damp; so few lights/lamps that more than half the room was in total darkness; shower sprayed water all over the counter; when I asked for a different room I was told they were sold out (even though there were only 2 cars in the lot, and I never saw another person the whole weekend). I slept fully dressed both nights so my skin wouldn't touch the sheets. The toilet tissue was so thin it was almost worthless. If I had stayed at a rent-by-the-hour dump, I might have expected this. But since I booked this place online and paid much more, I was shocked at the abysmal conditions. I will not ever return here, and will tell everyone I know to stay away. What an embarrassment for the city of Columbia. This hotel should be prohibited from advertising. It is nothing like the website suggests.

DO NOT BOOK.This is hands down the worst hotel I have ever booked with. Yes, it's under construction, but none of the issues I will mention have anything to do with renovations. First, the parking lot is very poorly lit and not conducive to large vehicles. I didn't feel 100% confident in the elevator. The pillows did not have pillow cases, and the pillows themselves were stained. The sheets were not fresh, the trashcans had trash in them, and towels were bunched up (not folded) and sitting on top of the toilet. There were stains on the ceiling, the crown molding was in awful shape, and honestly everything was just gross. Our room smelled of stale urine; a co-worker's room smelled so strongly of smoke (in a non-smoking room) AND had disconnected smoke detectors (!!!) that he went to the front desk. They, miraculously, were full. They couldn't give us new rooms. We left. Immediately. The lady at the front desk was nice; she called a few other hotels and managed to find us new rooms in a different establishment. That is the only redeeming quality about this experience. Pictures on the website do not match the reality of this hotel. Do not stay here.

DO NOT BOOK-Under Construction and mostly shut-downWe arrived on Sunday March 19 to enter what appeared to be a war zone. Demolition all around, and debris in the walkways. Dust everywhere. Elevators, kitchen, pool --- all are shut down. And just dirty. Toilets don't flush, nothing has been cleaned. They let us cancel our room, and fortunately, the Hyatt had room. The staff at the Hyatt was surprised to hear that they were open! Located on the same street, they often drove by and new it was being gutted. Didn't know it was being booked while being gutted! It's absolutely unacceptable that they are open.

Abhor it, fear it, do not enter it.Undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever been to. The rooms were filthy, everything seemed to be damp - inexplicably damp. I don't understand how the bedding felt permanently damp, the floors were horrendously sticky. I imagine if you returned with a black light, you would see why everything had such a horrendous consistency. The staff are a rare blend of unpleasant and incompetent, managing to lose a package that they had signed for, with no explanation as to what had happened. Don't be swayed by low prices, your healthy and sanity is worth more than that. Good sir, I do in friendship counsel you to leave this place, and ne'er return.

Staying in the CityAlthough the hotel was basically providing rooms only to laborers doing the remodeling, the staff was very nice and helpful. Convenient location. Quiet. I performed on my guitar in the lobby. The housekeeping staff was very sweet. I will come back.
