  Lots of Lip Stick until you get into your room!

  Walk in and it looks like a decent place to stay. Check in went smooth. After arriving in the room you can tell they are lacking house cleaning. Red stains on bed sheet, towels are spotted. They dump the trash but leave the sticky bag. Pubic hair on shower wall. The lounge was amazing and very hospitable. The breakfast was good as well. If they would concentrate on clean rooms it would become a much better place to stay.

  Terrible for couple with no kids, if booking a room with 1 bed

  We have a Tesla and have stayed in Pocatello at several hotels, we had seen the inside when charging so we booked a room for our next trip though. But our room was located outside of the main hotel area, literally outside in what felt like a motel in the back! We had to walk outside to our room, with the door facing the parking lot. The room was terrible... water stains through the ceiling in the main room and bathroom were spray painted over, furniture was very dated and showed lots of wear, the coffee accompaniments were opened, the breakfast was bad - eggs rubber and cold, coffee and orange juice watery... we ended up eating somewhere else. The pool was out of service for repairs. When we complained and asked to be moved to the main hotel with the rooms facing the pool, we were told we couldnt be moved because we didnt book direct with Clarion, but through Choice Hotels. I tried to explain to the guy that Choice hotels was the owner of Clarion and we did book on the official site... but all he would allow was a cancellation (at 9pm at night). If the pool gets fixed and you have kids, book a 2 bed room and maybe you will be in the actual hotel. For anyone else booking a single bed... beware!

  Not staying here.

  I'm not staying here. But, it because I get more point with an alternative rewards program. I will tell you, that whispers lounge is awesome. They have great food and drinks. I have been here a couple days. The bartenders are awesome and make you feel right at home. Best I can say at the moment.

  Old Property, and it Shows

  This property is in a hotel area along Interstate 15. My advice is to choose the Best Western across the street. Anyplace but here. This place is reminiscent of an old Holiday Inn. There is an indoor pool with two stories of rooms surrounding it. Very, very strong chlorine smell pervades the building, including what would have been the breakfast area, had there been any breakfast offered. I certainly would have refused a room in this part of the hotel. Our room was in a wing facing the highway, and was very noisy because of that. Any sound insulation in this building has long since quit working. The room was very small, even though it was classified as an ADA room. We had booked it because of the roll-in shower feature, which is designed for someone in a wheelchair, but I cannot see how someone in a wheelchair could ever navigate through the room. It was hard for two able-bodied persons to not be in each other's way. No fridge or microwave, but a coffee maker. It's funny what some places consider what things contribute to the spread of the virus and what doesn't. Some places have done away with coffee makers, but have fridge and microwave. Some places have done away with all breakfasts, some have coffee and packaged rolls, some have the full deal. Some places have the ice machines disabled, some places still have them to use. Odd. The roll-in shower flooded the entire bathroom, and had to be mopped up after every shower in order to use the toilet without having to wade to it. When I checked in, I told the desk clerk that we had a pet, and I was charged the pet fee. Fine. But we were put into a room with a sticker on the mirror stating that there were to be no pets in this room, and a $200 fine would be assessed if there were. ???? Also puzzling was the fact that this was an ADA room, which can include a pet. In the morning I had to be checked out by the lady who was refilling the coffee pot in the breakfast area, as there was no desk clerk in evidence anywhere. This is obviously a tired old property in need of either renovation or destruction.

  Cancelled reservation without notice

  I had a weekend booked over January 15th, 2021. A few days before my trip I got an email from expedia saying my reservation was cancelled at the request of the hotel. Tried calling the front desk 20 times, no answer. Sometimes it says technical difficulties and my call can't go through. Called Choice Hotels hotline, the representative doesn't speak good english and doesn't understand my problem. Offers to cancel my booking and then tells me the hotel is full when I finally get through to him about my room being cancelled. Finally get through to the front desk and she informs me the hotel is closing that very day and the staff was just notified themselves. So I was able to book another hotel across the street, and happened to get into a conversation with the owner who told us the hotel was run into the ground by owners from california, who decided to shut it down after not being able to keep good staff. They were supposed to be selling it and rumors were it opened again the weekend we were there. So they apparently thought it was an ok thing to do to tell the staff that DID stick around, that they wouldn't have a job after that day. I'm never depending on this hotel chain again.
