Convenient enjoyable stayI had read bad reviews regarding the front desk staff - our experience could not have been more opposed to that, I would describe it as "above and beyond.' First night we walked down Main St to Edgartown Wharf past the many eateries and shops. Edgartown is first class, breathtakingly beautiful, so if you have a choice between Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown it's not close. Of course when on the Vineyard you want to see it all, and this location is easy to find and access other areas of the island. Nice to have a Stop N Shop next door, package store and breakfast place a short walk away, and a nice restaurant and lounge on site (though we didn't visit).

Nice but not of good valueI stayed over at Edgar Hotel late August with family and friends. I like that the room has high celings and looks a little bigger than a counterpart near the beach, for a lesser price. However, I was hoping a bagged breakfast of fruit, muffin and juice would have been useful. The room's aircon was working inconsistently but I didn't have the chance to report the matter as we were out most of the time. I also noticed that there's a posting for pets not allowed in the rooms but I heard yapping as I made my way into my room. Thank God, I was booked away on the 2nd floor!

Horrible place!Broken Room! No face cover from the hotel employeesWe went on 4 July holiday. Lisa on the front desk was extremely rude, no manner at all. She shout with us the whole check in. No mask or face cover whatsoever. We asked for a room far from elevator, noise e etc. She gave the room that it was available : her words" Even when we asked to change the room for the next day the bark saying that the hotel was sold out. The room was in from the main entrance. Extremely loud all night long, drank people walking in the hallway laughing and shouting. The reception at night had nobody. Anyone could walk one, the doors open. The room had big issues. The tv was not working, the air was extremely loud, the side table light was not working. Besides everything we had a 5 years old. My husband called the manager t asked about the tv, she told him she had no idea why the tv wasn't working. Really?? Housekeeping talking loud since 6 in the morning. Again nobody any employer from the hotel was using face covering. When we were leaving the only thing the manager asked her was if we were leaving. Nothing else. The only thing she was interest was in speaking Portuguese with the housekeeping people. Go way from this place.

Just Fine for a Short StayMy wife and I stayed here for two nights in January 2021 while visiting the island on business. This hotel is just fine for a short stay, located along the main road in town and walkable for the shopping and dining. Our room on the second floor had a nice high ceiling, a spacious bathroom, and fridge and microwave (very helpful for meals during the pandemic). The room was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and rates reasonable.
