  Picked this hotel based on price and location. Did not want to be in the heart of Asheville. Right off I26, easy access to anywhere. Clean updated hotel. Friendly staff, one of the better breakfast included options that I've had in my travels. Close proximity to other restaurants. Just down the road from the airport. Indoor and outdoor pools. Shower water pressure about the only thing I can think of. Otherwise good stay overall.

  Good before a flight

  Stayed before I had a 7am flight from AVL. Good value park and fly combo. Nice fitness center for an airport hotel. Very nice staff, will come back next time I fly from here. Good breakfast and on demand shuttle to terminal.

  Convenient to airport, good shuttle, dated hotel

  My husband and I recently spent one night at this Clarion Inn. Location is easy to find as its just off the exit for the Asheville airport on I 26. Check in was easy and the young lady was very pleasant. Their were 2 clerks at the desk and one was bilingual and was helping a Hispanic guest while I was checking in. This hotel has a park and fly service...it's $7 per night starting on the day you check out. Just tell the clerk that you want to use their park and fly service, pay the $7 per night fee and schedule the time you'll need to be on the shuttle the next day. If you're hungry, there's a Mexican restaurant on the premises and it smelled delicious, but we did not eat there. There is only one elevator and the hotel is huge! My husband carried our luggage up/down the stairs that were closest to our room. We stayed in room 221. The room was large but poorly lit. There was small microwave and frig in the room. Our stay was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The room was dated and the furniture had lots of dings and scratches. The carpet appeared to be the newest part of the room. The water pressure in the sink and shower was poor, but the water was good and hot. The "popcorn" ceiling in the bathroom had black mold on it. The grout/caulk in the tub/shower was dark and moldy in appearance. Breakfast was from 6 am to 10 am and had a bigger selection than most hotels. There was sausage and bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, a big pot of oatmeal, biscuits and gravy. They also had the standard toast, bagels, 4 types of cold cereal and 2 batters to make fresh waffles. There was even strawberry topping and whipped cream for the waffles. They had juice selections, flavored waters, white and chocolate milk, coffee and tea. The breakfast was a great way to start the day before our flight. After breakfast my husband and I made our way to the waiting area in the lobby to wait for our shuttle. While sitting in the lobby we overheard a heavyset Hispanic man speaking loudly and rudely to the clerks at the check in desk. After his "conversation" he walked off and went into and office area. My husband and I later learned that the man was the owner. When our shuttle arrived, the driver entered the lobby to let us know that he was there to pick us up. My husband and I followed the man out the door and watched him walk to a van that was not parked under the covered area outside. It was absolutely pouring rain! I told my husband "I'm not walking out in this rain and getting sopping wet and cold." There was a burnt orange, Toyota pick up truck parked at an angle under the covered area which was blocking the drive way under the covered area. Come to find out, the truck belonged to the owner which was the same gentleman we overheard speaking rudely to the clerks. My husband convinced the driver to pull the van forward enough for us to load our luggage and ourselves without going out in the rain. I think the owner should be more considerate of the guests staying at his hotel and park his truck along the curb so the shuttles can accommodate the paying guests. This hotel has just as pro's as it has con's. We might stay at this location again if using the Asheville airport and needing a place for an overnight stay, but we might choose another one. The most memorable thing about this location was the breakfast.

  Good Rooms, Good Breakfast, Great Value Motel

  Rooms were clean, location was great, the hot breakfast was very good, front desk was courteous and quick, and the price was excellent. Just a short drive to many attractions. Overall, it was an excellent value.

  Lucky we found this place

  This exit off I26 has lots of hotels and we probably checked with all of them before finding the Clarion. I'm glad we did. There are 3 adults in our party and space was important. Even though we only had 2 queen beds and the 2 ladies had to share, we did not feel too crowded overall. The girl at the front desk was nice & helpful and signed me up for Choice rewards. The person serving breakfast the next morning was not friendly at all. I feel like we had a good stay for a good price and booked another Choice hotel for our next night on our trip.
