  Winter night stay

  Nice hotel located right on the shoreside. Parking places available on the streets next to the hotel. During the evening some snow came down and they started plowing it in late evening. Had a nice corner room with a view to the street so listened to the noise for a while (no hard feelings). Beautiful restaurant downstairs and breakfast buffet next to it, both with a sea view. Nice buffet breakfast also.

  Clarion Hotel Tyholmen is simply the best! ;))

  Great Hotel; the location, the view (superior rom), nice room, good beds, tasty breakfast. Great service; the staff is very service minded (especially Glenn):)). Clarion hotel Tyholmen is simply the best in Arendal. Highly recommended!! :)) By the way; Arendal is a great city to visit.

  Great location!

  Stayed here as part of our trans Nordic road trip. Situated right on the water front, we had a great view of the fjord and adjacent islands. Spacious room and well appointed through out. The corona styled breakfast was well done with excellent eggs and hot food. Individually wrapped breakfast items worked well also. Its a short walk into the town and easy access to other amenities. Parking was limited but there are at least two other car parks near the hotel.

  Nice view, but..

  We visited the hotel as part of our corona-summer-vacation this year. The hotel is ok, and the view is nice if you do like us order a superior room. The breakfast was ok, but the 1 meter social distance was not offered beteeen the tables. The bread was packed in plastic and was mostly dry. I hope the "normal" breakfast at the hotel is MUCH better than this.. The hotel could not offer any service of the room due to the corona situation - and did not explain this at check-in. This is strange - other hotels operated as normal this summer, so I expect this to be a way of saving money. The room was not discounted and they did not offer any compensation.

  Lovely stay

  Comfortable room, good size with plenty of pillows. Lovely sea view over the harbour. Breakfast was very good. Due to corona, buffets were no happening. I asked staff for a vegan breakfast and they made me a hot plate each day. Both dishes were different. The first day was a delicious bowl of fried tofu on a salad of nuts, seeds and fruits and veggies with soy sauce and the second day was a very yummy 'chicken' sandwich. Both were delicious and I would be very happy to eat either again. They also gave me a pitcher of soy or almond milk (i could choose)
