  Quick stopover

  Late night stopover. Hotel was located in the center of town with parking and additional access in the rear. The town setting with all it's brick shops lining the streets was, considering the dark late hrs, intriguing. The building interior was being remodeled an as we speak. Looks like they won't skimp on the cost IE marble floors. Rooms were not Taj Mahal but for the $75 price tag a steal. Very basic breakfast. There is a diner down the street that we were told was very good. I would suspect there were more within walking distance. I also suspect that next year the price will increase significantly. All in all, we do want to come back here if time permits.

  It was a Quality stay that day.

  Older Hotel, plenty of off street parking. May be a little tight for large trucks or vans. Clean and friendly. The young girl who checked us in was very nice. I would go back just because of her. Great continental breakfast, the young lady working there also was wonderful. Bar / restaurant in hotel, top notch. Seem to be local hang out so that tells you place is topps. Our room was clean and nice. Seem to be in center of town. Downside no safe.

  Actually Called Clarion Hotel & Suites now

  We stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of June. It was originally called Shippen Place, then it was a Quality Inn & Suites, and now it is a Clarion. The hotel is an older building located right in town. It is tricky to find-so look for the green awning that extends out over the sidewalk to help you. Parking is located in the back of the hotel. It was not busy when we visited, but I would guess on a busy night that parking lot would get full. University Grille is attached to the hotel for lunch and dinner dining/drinks. We were greeted and checked out by a very nice woman. We were given room 208. The room was fairly clean, but the beds were a bit rumpled when we arrived (see photo), so that was not a good beginning. The room had a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. Due to Covid 19 restrictions there was no breakfast served. There is a local diner that we had breakfast at that I do not recommend. This hotel did not seem to be super worried about masks or "super cleaning", but there were masks worn at the University Grille. Overall, we loved the city of Shippensburg. The price was right for us, but it would not be worth a high price stay.

  Amazing place

  Very welcoming staff, great breakfast served by a very committed breakfast attendant, clean well stocked rooms that were ready at check in, complimentary personal care items (in case u forgot to bring any). Located in the heart of town near many amenities. I would highly recommend this place

  Friendly staff

  We have been there for the third time on our way down to Florida. We go back because of the friendly staff always ready to help. The parking lot at the back is very practical. However there isn't an automatic door opener to the Hotel for a handicap person, please install one.The breakfast buffet is very well garnished. For the first time the restaurant was open on Sundays which was convenient for us. The food and the service was very good, especially by our waiter, Michael. A little downside however : the mattress in the handicap accessible room is WAY too high, it would be impossible for a handicap person travelling alone to "climb" that high. Went we complained the day after to the receptionist, she told us that they had that complain several times before. We hope that the manager will solve that issue before we come back in April.
