  Letter I sent to the Manager!

  Dear Mr. Percy  During these weeks and or months of social distancing it is easy to become nostalgic for times when travel restrictions as we know them today, were not even a concept.   During these days Ive become nostalgic of the excellent service and care I received at The Holiday Inn Memphis Airport - Conf Center.  Without being a previous guest - under my advice, I stayed with a group of friends in your hotel from February 19 to 25.  Our group really wanted to experience the true historic and gastronomic Memphis while also remaining close to Graceland and staying in your hotel actually enhanced our vacation experience. Your front desk person, Miss Gwendolyn, was really kind and knowledgeable advising our group of local attractions such as: where to find the real traditional soul food,  musical events and where to get the best fried chicken which, as you know, in Memphis is a competitive market, LOL.  Her recommendations for Kountry Cookin and Guss (downtown for a real Memphis experience ) were spot on.  Also, being upgraded to a much nicer room by your Sales Manager, Tamekia, was greatly appreciated by me and my group.   not to be found in all Holiday Inn Hotels.  I have already decided to return to The Holiday Inn Memphis Airport - Conf Center, hopefully late in the month May when travel restrictions will be hopefully lessen and things go back to our new normal.   In general our group and I, we had a wonderful time, and I have recommended The Holiday Inn Memphis Airport - Conf Center to  all of our colleagues, friends and family.  I have also written this review in Tripadvisor , Expedia & in HOTELS.COM where Im a GoldMember.  Also I sent a copy of this letter to the Holiday Inn central offices.  People should know when great hospitality is being done.   Not up to Holiday Inn standards.

  I give two stars for the location, free parking, and the friendliness of the front desk staff. Everything else was really not good. The rooms felt more like an Econolodge one would find along a dusty highway in the middle of nowhere. The closet door was falling off the track and was surrounded by chipped paint. The bathroom door could not close unless one pushed all of their body weight against it to shove it into place. The tub was yellowed and had stains. The bed SEEMED clean but given the state of everything else Im just not sure. The lobby was dated and looked like a prison cell block except for dark, dated carpeting instead of concrete. We were out from 9-4:30 on the second day of our stay and came back to a room that had not been cleaned! We decided to relax for an hour before going out for dinner and the maid knocked at 4:45 asking if we still wanted the room cleaned. I told her that we were out all day and just got back but would be leaving again in about an hour so asked her to come back then. She never came back and we didnt even get refreshed towels after I told her we needed them. My husband and I are both IHG Platinum Elite members and neither of us got an amenity for being such. This was by far the worst IHG hotel weve stayed in. We value IHG brands for their consistency worldwide and this one just did not meet the normal standards.

  Terrible!

  DO NOT STAY HERE! The worst place ever!! No tv is the bedroom. Over charged us for extra points! Points we did not want!!! The lady when we made the reservation tried selling us a bunch of notes elsewhere! Have stayed at Hiliday inns many times ...Never again!!!

  Travels.....BEWARE....BEWARE.....not safe to park here!!!

  I purchased a Park and Fly (paid for one room and paid for an extra 14 night parking if my vehicle) at this hotel. During this period, my vehicle was broken into and a pistol was stolen (yes, I have a permit)! I only found out about this when I returned....no call, nor text, nor email....nothing. There was a garbage bag taped over the window slot!! I arrived at 10:00 pm....no offer for a room for one night.....so, I drive 100 miles with no drivers side window...and it was raining!! I have left 2 voice mails with the GM, a Mr. Swan over a 3 day period.....nothing from him!! So, use this review when you decide to stay here!

  Worst Experience Ever

  Shower had hair all over it, the knob to turn the water on only half works, shover is stained yellow, restaurant on site was closed and getting food from outside the hotel was an adventure in and of itself. Very nice lobby, but the rest of the hotel does not match. Very clear it is an unsafe location right from the start as people were standing around our car as we pulled up to the front at check in. Felt nothing but disgusted and unsafe this whole stay at the holiday inn.
