  OK hotel

  This hotel is only OK, the price for Joliet is probably OK too but I thought it was too much for what it is. There is no internet. There is WiFi, but it doesn't connect to the internet. The hallways smell like cigarette smoke. The room is clean and it's OK. There is a restaurant and bar here, the food was nothing you want to do again and the bar is like most hotel bars. I'm not planning on staying here again, I shouldn't have to tether my phone to my laptop to get internet and I'm put off my the cigarette smoke.

  Location was king

  This is a repackaging with some upgrades of the Holiday Inn at this location. This is an older property in a working class part of town so keep that in mind. It has new bedding, new bathrooms, room furniture looked a little past its prime. The motel permits smoking in some rooms, so if you are in that hallway, you will smell smoke. The room rate was very good. Free breakfast offered the basics but fresh and fine. Very clean breakfast room and clean rooms overall. Free internet access with password- reliable and speedy. I got the impression that this was a favored place for large groups on a budget. When we checked in on a Thursday i could see a lot of men that looked a little beat up. But then i learned that a large contingent of construction workers were being housed to break down a nearby refinery. They were fine, no noise or behavior problems - probably too tired!. Then on the weekend they cycled out and the hotel was the site of a local teen beauty pageant - sweet girls, their proud families. The parking lot was full. This was good location for us and we would not hesitate to stay again.

  Descent Stay

  Overall, stay was good, with a few minor issues needing attention. Check-in at three in the afternoon took longer than it should; multiple guests checking in and some issues with room arrangements appeared to be responsible for the wait. The front-desk clerk was very helpful and friendly, along with the other staff I encountered. Overall the room was clean minus the soap dish and a few parts of the carpet needed some attention. Room was comfortable and quiet. The bar didn't have any tap beer, but had two taps. The fitness room didn't have any any water in the water cooler, and the sanitize wipes were all dry. Overall, nothing too major, just appeared that some corners were cut short to save money.

  Filthy

  The people are friendly. My room was not ready, even though I was told a room would be ready to accommodate my special needs toddler. The toilet did not flush. (unbelievable). The room carpet was so filthy, that our socks and my son's bare feet were PITCH BLACK within 5 minutes. It looks as if the carpet has NEVER been cleaned, so that makes me nervous about the cleanliness of the rest of the room. Even though Covid affects most hotels, the other hotels we stayed at provide a "to go bag" for breakfast. This hotel wanted to charge $5 for the same privileged, even though a COMPLIMENTARY Breakfast is supposed to be included. There were prostitutes out front. There was a person roaming the halls who claimed to live at the motel next door. We went outside only to see strangers hanging around our vehicle. They had a purse...sitting on our vehicle. Not a good place anymore.

  Clean with helpful staff but some issues

  While it was clean the chair in the room was worn and had stains. The breakfast was dismal with a lot of old stale foods and little choices. After the first day the phones quit working for outside numbers. They said it was turned off to save money and to use our cell phones. A HUGE safety violation since there was no 911 service. If you don't have a cell phone stay away. Overall I would stay again because of the value. Bed were incredibly comfortable. It is well located withing 2 minutes of dozens of restaurants, Walmart and a Sams.
