  Stop over for a business meeting in Karlstad, excellent location including a dinner buffet

  We are a family of three travelling the world, and had a very nice stop over in this hotel in Karlstad City as part of a business meeting nearby. The dinner buffet was included in the price, and was OK. The room was nice, and the breakfast was good. The parking area was a walking distance from the hotel. All in all a good stay, friendly staff and nice location in the city.

  Charming hotell

  Great service, good food and good location. The hotell is a bit old, but i think that's a part of the charm. The bed was good, we got a room with a balcony, (the farad may need an upgrade) but all in all i was happy. Im staying here next time we come to Karlstad.

  Decent average hotel

  I am currently staying at the hotel with my wife and daughter and here are some of my thoughts till now : The hotel is centrally located and is very neat and clean. They serve dinner included in the price of the room! The food is Ok but they call it a dinner buffet when ideally it should be called the meal of the day as there was some rice and meat along with some salad. Now the room, We booked a superior room hoping that it will have a double bed but when we saw the room it was 2 single beds pushed together without a big mattress. When we booked the hotel room we booked it for 3 people and also mentioned that our daughter will sleep in the same bed as us! What I do not understand is how can they issue a room with 2 single beds joined together to us without a big mattress as our daughter slides down in the space between beds when she is sleeping in between us. My wife talked to the receptionist and she just said we only have superior rooms with 2 beds pushed together. I have not encountered this kind of issue in my travel experience all over Europe till now. The hotel is decent but all in all, it is a disappointment especially if they pass on a room with 2 single beds pushed together without a big mattress as a double bed. Next time I will probably look for some other option in Karlstad.

  Classic elegance

  We had reserved a deluxe Royal room on the corner of the 4th floor (described by the receptionist as the hotels best room) and it did not disappoint. Supremely spacious, extraordinarily luxurious and beautifully appointed. Just a really fantastic experience, especially the sitting area. Just wow! That said, neither the room nor the stay in general were without fault. The bathroom flooded severely (and I do mean severely) every time you took a shower. The AC and heating unit seemed too weak. The bed was rather uncomfortable. Due to the location of the hotel, the room was also rather noisy. Personally, I also felt that the hotels covid-19 measures were inadequate and we did not feel safe eating in their restaurant (so we dined elsewhere). But, the room was just so extraordinarily elegant that all is forgiven. We loved the room and if I ever find myself in Karlstad again, I will go out of my way to reserve it again, despite its (and the hotels) shortcomings.

Very squeaky bed (Moving your head was enough to create havoc) plus two uncomfortable single beds pushed together, yet still with a significant gap, does not suffice when you have paid for a king size bed.
