  A very attractive older hotel near the city center of Falun

  This very nice hotel is located on the road from Stockholm to Lillehammer and was an unexpected treat. Our room was fresh and the beds comfortable. The dining room served wonderful meals in a Swedish country tradition. Each of the Clarion chain hotels in Sweden and Norway share a similar ambiance.

  Wonderful hotel and lovely food on offer

  We were only in Falun for one evening, but we were not disappointed with the Clarion. Staff were very friendly and checked us in quickly before the allocated time and stored bags for us the next day as our train was not until the afternoon. Rooms were basic, but had everything you would want in them. In particular, the complimentary fika went down a real treat and the reception area was very comfortable for this. I was a bit apprehensive when it said the evening meal was included as I don't like to be restricted on where we eat, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really delicious and it was great value for money. Breakfast the next day was the same, which was good as we had a long train journey ahead of us. If ever in Falun again I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Clarion in the future and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. The only issue was that the room was very hot and the window opened into the room, so it was hard to have it open at night if you wanted the curtains closed. Fan was provided in the room, but we didn't want this on all night and felt it would just move the hot air around.

  Excellent visit at Bergmästaren. Highly recommended!

  Very nice stay at Bergmästaren! Nice staff meeting at reception. Good parking facilities both at hotel locations and in the area. The hotel is centrally located with many good restaurants nearby. Great lobby with good atmosphere and good space to sit and rest or have a drink! Can also recommend the good breakfast served in perfectly reasonable format with nice light serving. Recommended when visiting Falun!

  Perfect location, service minded staff

  Parking just behind the hotel felt safe and reasonably Priced (80 SEK/night?) + room and bathroom spacious. Quality soap in dispenser (Rituals?) + lobby where guests could sit down and get a coffee from the dispenser. Also small cookies. Nice!! Being corona times, breakfast had slots, to avoid over crowdedness, but some recommendations on that guests should walk in the same direction would have been appreciated. Another + was that included in the hotel price was an evening meal available for guests to help themselves to. Nothing spectacular but well made (eg sausage, pasta, soup) but it was very appreciated in the evening when we came back to the hotel and didnt feel like going out again looking for a restaurant in the city centre. The drawback, of course, that there were many other guests also wanting to eat; food ran out and there was no space in the restaurant itself. Still, there was space in the cosy lobby, but no available staff in the bar. The poor staff in the restaurant was also supposed to man the bar in the lobby, it seemed like. This meant some running/walking around for them and us. Another nice touch was the complimentary book in the room about the philosophy of the hotel chain and also containing health and environment tips. Suitable for some bedtime reading. - no fridge in room

  Charming hotel

  It's not too hard to figure out in which part of Sweden you are when you check in at this hotel. Charming reminders of the local cultural heritage is found almost everywhere from the rooms to the breakfast area. Excellent breakfast by the way! Friendly staff and good location makes it a great hotel to spend some nights in.
