Unexpected FindWe stayed here two nights recently. Friends of ours had heard of this place and they are wine fans. Driving east from Denver on I 70 almost to the Kansas border, we were struck by the dry, barren fields on both sides of the road and wondered how in the world there could be a winery located on these plains. Things started well when we had a nice reception. We were given a brochure and asked to pick five wines that we would like to try during the winetasting, included with the dinner. Most of the wines have cutesy names like its difficult or call a cab. The menu lists 19 different red wines and six dry white wines as well as another five semi dry white wines and also three ports and ice wines. This is not to even mention the fruit wines that constitute another 19 or so choices on the back of the menu. This is a very ambitious program! A brochure explains that the owners get juice and skins called must delivered to them from places around the world including Australia, France, Italy, South America, USA. They then use this to blend various wines. I appreciated the effort it must take to put these combinations together, but I didnt think any of the wines were fabulous. All the ones I tried were drinkable and I thought several of them were good. A favorite was the outback duo, described as a combination of Australian Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The food at dinner included an appetizer, a generous entrée, and dessert. The steak served at dinner was delicious and was my favorite. The dinner also included all the wine you could drink. I think the cost was in the range of $100 for this, making it a good deal. One disappointment was in our room. We stayed in the secret garden room. It turns out the biggest secret is that the plants in the room are all plastic imitation. My wife is a master gardener, so this was disappointing. The owners would do well to remove the dusty fake plants from the room. Aside from the fake plants, the room was fine. It had a huge and very comfortable king bed, a large bathroom with a hot tub, and a generous walk in closet. A couple of pleasant surprises included a bocce ball game that we played on the very rugged turf in the backyard and a Movie room. Apparently the owners purchased the entire stock from a blockbuster store. Breakfast was included and it was also very generous and quite good. Overall, it is worth the drive out here to see this place and check it out. If you are a serious wine fan, you may be a little disappointed in the wine program, but I think you will admire the effort that the owners have made.

46th Wedding AnniversaryI must say, having spent 21 years alongside my husband who served in THE USAF we have traveled and enjoy doing so quite a bit. We have stayed in Castles galore, along with Ritzy Hotels.. This was by far our most enjoyable.. with grown adult children and Teen live in Grandsons, this was so super! Beautiful Architect, gorgeous Inn, and the InnKeepers are fantastic.. The entire Wait Staff is there for whatever you need.. Beautifully crafted rooms, { 10 } each with a theme of majestic beautification. Ours was rather Olde World rustic French.Private entrance, Breakfast in our Room at our Specification of Times.. no extra fees. Beautiful Wine tasting evening, intimate at our Dinner Table.. between the two of us we sampled 20 intensely designed Wines made right there on the Inn property.. from Grapes purchased from around the World. The Meals were exquisitely and devinely crafted to perfection. Four Courses. For the sheer beauty, there was RELAXATION, REST and just fabulous service all around!! This Inn offers Murder Mystery Wine tasting and Stay overs, Painting, Cooking classes whereby you get to dine on the finished product.. They do Tours around the world, as well !! Also offered are Weddings and Receptions. This is somewhere you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful date night get-away!It was more relaxing than we even expected. The wine tasting was so much fun and the food was delicious! Our room got a little warm, didn't seem to be a way to turn on the a/c but we found a fan and it helped a lot. We slept in for the first time in forever and took our time getting ready, they delivered a fresh pot of coffee and newspaper right outside our room which was wonderful while we got ready. Breakfast was delivered right outside our door right on time and it was so good. We've already recommended to friends and family. It was a perfect get-away during these crazy times. The room was clean and everything was private and couples were socially distanced. Thank you to the staff at the Claremont Inn!
