  A great place to stay to visit Northshore Hospital

  City of Sails is clean and comfortable and extremely close to North Shore Hospital. The young man on reception was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The motel was in close proximity to the bus station and offered the services of a reasonably priced taxi company so it is possible to get around even though you are a little way from the Auckland city centre.

  Two day stay

  We loved this motel. The staff were very polite, most helpful and the room was better than we expected. The room we were given was large and very comfortable. There were no facilities other than for making tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The spa bath was very large and we thoroughly enjoyed that. The room was serviced, which we had not expected, since we were there two nights. We would definitely choose to come back here if we were looking for somewhere to stay in Auckland. Very close to North Shore Hospital so convenient for anyone visiting though that was not what we were doing! Free Wifi was good. Our room had a locked door to the next room connecting the two rooms- they also had a locked door their side- so that option would be available if a family wanted 2 rooms. Ours was a triple room with a good king bed and a large king single.

  my stay

  long stay,lovely 3rd floor rooms, clean, spa bath,balcony,a/c, Shamefully construction noise next door was unbearable. house staff lovely, owner-arrogant, The receptionist lady- 'KIM-'is exceptional, what a joy to deal with. Ground floor units are mouldy, no a/c, non functioning shower, avoid at all cost. 2nd floor units noisy, like being inside a base drum but clean/ presentable and livable. 'KIM. will do everything possible to make your stay as pleasant as possible. sadly staying at this motel to enjoy daytime R&R is impossible!!.evening stays only at this time suggested.

  Clean, comfortable room and well located

  We stayed for 3 nights in a lovely, spacious room with a corner spa on the top floor. The room was well appointed and cleaned daily. Parking under the building is somewhat at a premium but just adequate. Close to Smales Farm bus station, so you can get to just about anywhere you need to quite easily and find a number of places to eat - the closest takeaway a short walk away on Shakespeare road possibly being the best option of all. Three's no lift, so not the best choice for anyone with mobility issues or unwilling to haul luggage upstairs.

  A very good motel . Staff excellent and the room ideal , with plenty of room and very clean and fresh . Parking easy as is access to and from the motel . Could be a bit tricky for older people as stairs are required to get to rooms , and shower is contained inside a spa bath , which could restrict some ?. Hand rails etc are well placed though for support .
