  great breakfast, perfect location but small,very small room.

  based on my experience they have a great breakfast, if you are staying for 2 or 3 nights only. because it is not a wide variety. however the location is great, the rooms are quite very small...and no AIR condition for the hot days in German above 30-33 degrees very bad hot nights , could not sleep very well..

  City minbreak!

  Just before a visit to Karlsruhe we visited Mainz and chose this hotel for 2 nights to allow us to explore the city. In a quiet area close to the old centre and the Dom, and Gutenberg Museum - both a short walk away, we were comfortable here. Not a chain, but a local German hotel. Friendly and multilingual with an excellent breakfast as well as comfortable rooms and beds. No air-conditioning which was a small problem, but fans were provided. The rooms were well fitted and clean. We used the bar as well and that was quiet and convenient. There was no evening food but that allowed exploration of the restaurants and cafes in the city. A good choice for our break!

  Good Value, Well situated, City Hotel

  We stayed here for just one night, just as we were about to embark on a biking tour down the Rhine. Without being exceptional, it's a great value, clean hotel. We were well welcomed - the reception staff all spoke excellent English - and our room was compact, perhaps a little 'tired' in appearance, but fine. The shower was, however, a little disappointing, and really should have been better. Breakfast was traditional German buffet, and excellent. Had everything I wanted, and more. We also had a drink in their bar area in the evening. Very cosy, and not overpriced. Would certainly stop here again..........but I'd like a better shower next time if I have Room 202 again............PLEASE!!

  Business trip

  This Hotel is not worth the time/money. I went here during the month of June, not high summer, for business. When I get to a hotel I expected a few things; - Air conditioning - an easy to reach room My room had no air conditioning, it was stuck away in the back of the hotel (no rooms nearby). the room was above the entrance/exit of the hotel. Breakfast next day was decent, however the breakfast room was small, so I had to share my table with someone else. The hotel felt old and not well maintained. It is not something you expect when paying 100 euro's for a night. I would skip this hotel and go for a hotel that would be slightly (30/40 euro's) more expensive.

  Centrally located hotel with lots of character.

  Room was quite small but clean and tidy. An older hotel with lots of character. Located down a short laneway with courtyard parking. Staff were really nice, helpful and spoke English. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. We were disappointed by size of room and bathroom but that is governed by age of hotel. Wifi was ok but required a new password each day. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Mainz.
