  Best place to stay in Anuradhapura!

  We were greeted so warmly by the owner, who gave us all tea as we rested up after a long bus ride. He then took time to sit down with us and tell us all about the ancient city and how to get around. He offered us a tuk tuk tour, but we were pretty poor by this stage so he went through the map with us and showed all the free temples to visit. We got some bikes next door and absolutely loved our free tour!! Trying to do laundry seemed impossible in this city but he also helped us, giving us washing powder, a large bucket and we got all our laundry done and dried on their line. He provided us with so much info about the country, busses, trains etc, and was so generous. The rooms are very clean, comfy, great A/C and the breakfast was amazing!! We stayed a couple of nights and loved it. Thanks!

  Well priced and located, generous ownership

  Rooms are basic but comfortable, in a nice, quiet location, and well priced. Owners are very helpful in arranging how you want to tour the historic sites. And when I forgot to pay before leaving, they were very understanding and generous and arranged for a bank transfer, thankfully. Highly recommended.

  Well located guesthouse

  We stayed one night at CCL and our room looked a bit run down from the look of the photos. We stayed at the top level of the property were we could see the big trees and monkeys all around. The guest house was run by a family and everyone was very friendly and willing to help. We organised a tour with them to see the local attractions. The location was a highlight - walking distance from the city centre, bus station, ATM, supermarket, etc. Will recommend for a night stay.

  Really disappointed

  We had read good reviews and the photos looked nice - the reviews were obviously a long time ago and the photos even older. The rooms were very basic, the slats on the children's bed all broken, towels were small and hard, cold water only, bathroom was grubby, not enough bed linen. I lay on my own beach towel as I did not like the look of the bedding. The temple at the top of the road blasted chanting through a megaphone all night long so sleep was impossible. Our driver had a room on the top floor which was equally as poor and in addition to the wailing all night he had monkeys banging on the window,

  Great stay with a great host

  The owner is very nice man and helps you out whenever needed. The rooms are fine and the shower is great.We were welcomed very nicely and thet gave us great tips and helped us plan our stay in the city. Would definitely return here.
