Bagus accommodation!!!I stayed 3 nights here during all my trip in Ubud. Room was very clean and up to date as same as pictures in Tripadivisor. All facilities including air conditioner, ceiling fan etc. was operated well. And toilet was very clean and hot water comes from a tap well. Especially, breakfast was fantastic! I can't not forget the taste of Hot banana toast so far. But, in my room, Wi-fi signal was very weak. and there were some dirty smell in one morning. (Other moning was OK.). So, if you need Wi-fi in your room, you shall check it before your reservation. Mr. Sumantra also did his best as a manager of this B&B. But, I can't see a smile on his face. Please smile Mr. sumantra and enjoy your work~. Totally, no Wi-fi and some dirty smell was no prolem to me. I was very satisfied staying in this B&B for budget accommodation~! Tip: Mr. Sumantra said that direct contact to him will be more cheaper than the other ways of reservation. E-mail: sumantrahouse@gmail.com

Perfect location in UbudClean, quiet and perfectly located, this will suit you if you want good, basic accommodation in a family compound. Our room (101) was roomy enough with a great balcony. Sit cross-legged to eat a simple but freshly prepared breakfast in the well-tended garden. Yes the roosters start early. My daughter and I loved our time here, especially our day at the waterfall. Thanks Sumantra.

Great valueWe booked our room at this homestay in person after having stayed at two other homestays and also visiting a couple other homestays on Hanoman Rd. TIP BEFORE YOU BOOK Many of the top-rated homestays are mapped incorrectly on TripAdvisor, so we would think they were located near the Main Road, but then they'd turn out to be near or around the Monkey Forest. This happened at least 6 times, so if location is important to you, be sure to triple check addresses before you book any place in Ubud. Compared to the other two homestays at which we stayed earlier in the week: PROS * Location: located slightly away from bustling Jalan Monkey Forest road on a street with more boutique-y shops, but still "part of the action". Easy to get back to. * Value: The price for accommodations here can't be beat. * Hospitality: our most authentic homestay, plus talking bird out in the courtyard! * We saw one of the family members help out a guest trying to buy a birthday cake by offering to take her on her moped to a local grocery store. How sweet of her! * On our last day, we planned to leave at 6:30am, Sumantara volunteered to get up early and make us breakfast before we set out. Really sweet of him! * Sumantara helped us arrange a driver and car to take us back to Jimbaran and both the driver and car were great! * Located near "Caramel", a great place for afternoon coffee and sweets. CONS * our bathroom was a bit on the smallish side with a half-sink and a small shower area next to it. * there was an unstocked kitchen and gas range in our room which wasn't really that useful for us. Given how cheap food is outside, I am not sure that this space would be useful for anyone, but this could be a major PRO given I don't know of any other homestays that offers a gas range in your room! I personally would have found a mini-fridge more useful. For the rate we got, we had a good value. We had AC in our room (other available homestays we checked out on Hanoman Road didn't have AC) which wass important after a day trek out in the sun and humidity, and I'm not usually an AC person. Amenities we didn't have here (but were available when we paid more at our other homestays): * mini-fridge * safe * TV * pool The room was supplied with hand soap and water bottles. Wifi was also available, but I think it speed was average.

Welcoming FamilyWe arrived around 2 am on a rainy night to be welcomed by Sumantara and placed in a beautiful room. In the morning, the full glory of the garden revealed itself and a nice western breakfast was served by Sumantara and his wife. His parents and children were delightful. Kadek Sukerti, who operates the Citrus Tree Villas was very helpful in arranging transportation. Our driver, Made,Badri was a treasure. A family visit is a wonderful introduction to the culture and religion of Bali.

Such a lovely place to stayVisited here on my second visit to Ubud & was so impressed. It's a traditional 'Homestay' style of establishments - which basically means, a secluded 'compound' with a more homely feel. So much nicer than a faceless hotel. Off a busy road, buy when you step inside its very peaceful. The staff are all family I understand & could not be nicer. The breakfast options were limited, but I had the bali pancakes & they were delicious! So lovely - very balinese style. The room & bathroom were very clean and basic - no complaints at all. Great value for money, great location around 10mins walk to Yoga Barn, 5 mins from amazing Kafe & Earthfood restaurants - so perfect if you are looking for your zen side! Has free wifi that worked fine - the only slight annoyance was the cockerel that was crowing next door - but I could go back to sleep after it announced the morning had arrived!
