  Beautiful...but could be better!

  The hotel is located in the best area! The best location. The view from our Room was just amaizing. Reception Staff was really nice..... the restaurant staff....hm first of all they must learn to say "Good morning! Good Bye! Thank you! Have a nice day!" And of course...... smile.... I would like to ask them: "Why you never smile guys and why you don't give attention to your guests?" But generally.... everything was fine!

  What a wonderful place to stay- Amazing

  One of the amazing view and Terrace had any place, the night time even better sit just watch.Very nice room bath tube, best location Tbilisi. The only down was the breakfast , it was poor selection, old bread, not the best staff there, but reception staff great. Be back.

  Spectacular Views and Quality Rooms

  My wife and I enjoyed 6 wonderful days at the Citadel Narikala hotel and everything was first-rate. The location is spectacular, right below the mountain fortress -- you can walk up the final distance in about 5 minutes, for both morning and evening views of the city. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent (you can have omelettes made to order), including fresh yogurt, cheeses, sausages, cereals, juices, etc. If you get back tired from a day-tour, you can dine in the hotel restaurant which offers a fine selection, and much quicker service than you will receive in the old city restaurants, which are notorious for long waits before your orders arrive. The superior rooms are spacious, modernized, and with sensational balcony views of Tbilisi. If inclined to save a little, go for a non-balcony room and enjoy the two roof-top terraces instead. Some reviewers have commented that the hotel is far up on a steep road. This is true -- hence the spectacular city panoramas! -- but the incline is only difficult for a short distance upon leaving the hotel. If you have good shoes, no problem; loose sandals will be a bit of a challenge. Walking up to the hotel, however, is quite easy and it is a relatively short distance from the main streets below. For a truly memorable stay in the fascinating city of Tbilisi, you can't go wrong in choosing the Citadel Narikala. If we are ever fortunate enough to visit again in the future, this special hotel will certainly be our top preference.

  Great hotel - but must be able to walk on steep sidewalk

  This hotel is on a historic spot (explained in the mini-museum in their lobby) and about 1 block from the river and tourist center. The hotel is lovely, convenient, and fun. The only negative is that it is on a very steep street - so not for folks who are wobbly on their feet. Our taxi driver parked about 10 feet from the entrance and helped us get our suitcases across the street (which is so steep that the cobblestones are set so as to provide a little braking on the street). Ask for a room which looks out at the river - and go up to the terrace at night to see the whole city lit up. Great views from rooms and terrace and a real treat.

  Must stay in Tbilisi

  This hotel is spectacular! Its the perfect location, sitting on top of Tbilisi overlooking the old town. Lots of fabulous restaurants and bars all 5 minutes walking distance. You think the views from the rooftop terrace cant get any better, and then it gets dark and your mind is totally blown! Just stunning. The hotel is stylish, the rooms and bathrooms are lovely and clean. Pay the extra and get a room with a balcony..the views are worth it! The breakfast is basic but there are great breakfast options down the hill if you arent satisfied. I recommend asking the hotel to book you a car from the airport. They sent a lovely van for us and it was nice to have someone there waiting when we landed because you could get conned outside the airport with expensive drivers. In a nutshell, couldnt have been happier with this hotel..we were sad checking out!
