Tired looking hotel urgently needs a renovation, air conditioning not working.***NOT RECOMMENDED**** My parents originally were staying at this hotel from 8th to 10th of October (2 nights) in a twin bedroom. As I flew back to Taiwan one day earlier, we asked the hotel on the 8th whether we would be able to add an extra bed or change to a triple room for the next night. Hotel offered to move us to the triple room and charged the fare difference. Turned out the air conditioning in the new room was not working and the whole room was stuffy and hot as the windows were sealed. This was in October when the temperature at night was still 28 or 29 degrees so it was unbearable. Hotel staff came and had a look himself, agreed the air conditioning was not working, however suggested he could not do anything about it as that was the only triple room available. We asked to move back to a double room with an extra bed and be refunded just the fare difference between that and the triple room. Hotel staff advised us they won't be able to make any refund which I found very unreasonable, after all, it was the the hotel facility not functioning. In the end he gave us a "stand up fan" for the night and did not apologise for the lack of working air conditioning. There was also a very pungent sewage smell coming from either toilet or the air conditioning pipe lingering in the room. The rest of the hotel is not worth mentioning, it was aged and outdated and desperately needs a renovation. The front desk staff looked like he was hating life and did not acknowledge any guests walking pass with a smile or a nod. Breakfast was mediocre at best. I don't normally care about breakfast buffet as long as it was fresh which in this case was not. Lettuce looked like it's been out in the air for hours and had turned black. We had to advise a kitchen staff the alfalfa sprouts were not edible as it was soggy and black. It seemed like they were not supplying fresh salad on a daily basis and is rather concerning in terms of food safety. Overall definitely not worth recommending.

My first stay in Chinatrust Executive House, Hsin-TienExcellent stay. This is a hotel for business travelers. Suggestions : remember to call to the service of this hotel before coming from the metro to this hotel. The map in the metro is not useful, don't look at the map in the metro for the itinerary. No frills hotel close to MRT stationUnless you have to be in the Dapinglin area or are on a tight budget, there's really little to say to compel anyone to stay here. Not that it was awful - we've actually been in others in other countries that have been worse. But it is basic and the breakfast very limited and quite grim. The hotel is housed in a residential square that is run by a Christian organization - for that reason the address can be confusing. It's a couple of minutes from Exit 2 of Dapinglin MRT station (step access only - otherwise it's Exit 3 or 4 for escalator access) once you get your bearings. That's the best way to get to the hotel. At the square where the hotel is in, you're surrounded by a church and an office block that houses conference rooms/offices. You may end up thrown into huge groups of conference attendees during your stay if the timing is wrong. The hotel is in dire need of an update but I'm not sure they can afford it. As a place to rest your head while in Taipei, it's perfectly ok.

Clean and sufficient for short stay in XindianI came here to attend meeting in Xindian and this hotel has been recommended by the meeting organisers. This hotel is quite hard to locate as the map may show the location is beside the main road but it is quite inside the small alley. I am thankful my friend arrived early so have time to locate this after a few rounds of checking all the main roads surrounding this hotel. This hotel is inside the catholic church premises hence the front area is a church, but behind the church is the hotel. Breakfast is simple but enough to start your day.

Nov 2018This was our preferred hotel when visiting Taipei, as the MRT station is literally just steps from the hotel entrance. However, I feel like the service has gone downhill each time we stayed here. I think we'll be venturing to other hotels around Taipei for our next visit.
