Not bad but inconsiderateThe good: The hotel is located directly at the mekong river which is nice. A lot of mosquitos outside though. The room was nice with a good view. Breakfast was ok, but not great. The bad: We stayed for 2 nights. The first night came to a sudden end at 6am in the morning when a group of university people having a meeting at the hotel started a noisy monk ceremony using loudspeakers which lasted for about 2 hours. This was authorised by the hotel. Unbelievable ! When we complained they did not stop it. They just did not care at all. The second night also came to an end at 7am when the garden workers decided that it was a good idea to start trimming the bushes with a gasoline grass trimmer ( about 110 decibel) and using a lawn mower for cutting the grass in front of our balcony. It was very exciting to get this kind of cultural insight. Other negative things: You can clearly hear motorbikes and trucks driving on the street sometimes. There are neighbours across the streets playing loud music for hours. Chiang Khan is nice, but after 2 days there is nothing more to see.

A bit away from the town of Chiang KhanThis is a beautify quiet place just outside the village of Chiang Khan. Staff is very friendly and comes and greet you every time you come back to the hotel. Breakfast is included in the price and is decent and a lot. Tuk tuk from the hotel to the village centre is about 80bath. All well worth it. Seeing that most hotels in the village do not serve free breakfast and a lot are actually hostels and not hotels. As it is outside of the village, this means it is nice and quite. Prices in the low season are good. Simply said it is a beautiful resort with a nice view on the river

Beautifully set hotel by the MekongWe stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights in December, and just right at the time when the Mekong river gets covered by mist in the early morning. What a sight! It was incredibly beautiful, and as the mist cleared to reveal the mountains in the background, the scenery was splendid. We had a room on the third floor that gave us a beautiful view of the mighty Mekong and Laos on the other side. The bed was good for sleeping with a firm mattress. There was a free minibar which included snacks and drinks, and 5 complimentary bottles of water a day. Hot water was on tap and the WiFi was steady. The breakfast was reasonably good with several local dishes. So, if you are a foodie, this is a good start to your day. The only minor complaint we have is that drinkers at a neighborhood bar could make themselves heard even after midnight. Well, hopefully that was an aberration. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay here very much. Though it is a 5-10 minutes drive from the Chiangkhan Walking Street where there are nice restaurants and coffee places, this was not a problem.

Lovely setting and friendly staffWe had a really good experience at this hotel. We were upgraded to a room with a verandah and nice views straight onto the beautiful Mekong River. We were slightly worried that the staff wouldnt speak much English but the lovely Mok - who spoke English, French and Portuguese - took very good care of us. There isnt a restaurant at the hotel but there is a good room service menu with really tasty food if you dont fancy the trip into Chiang Khan. A lovely break from Bangkok and highly recommended. Chiang Khan is definitely worth a visit and we enjoyed touring the countryside around, as well as a boat trip up the Mekong.

Wonderful momentWonderful hotel for relax Location: it's far from walking street just a few kilometers. The view: very nice view, over looking LAO PDR. The room & service: very good to stay in Chiangkhan. I love this place...
