  Nice Pousada, for the wrong price

  We have to put this into the right perspective: Louise et Louis is a nice Pousada, but is absurdly overpriced, at EUR 300 or USD 400 per night for a double room. So lets be clear from the beginning: if you do not care for the price, it is OK, you can go there and spend a good time. But if you mind on value for money, they you will miss some things, as I will describe below. We took a sea view room. The room is nice and spacious, with a good bed, a good flat TV with reasonable size, and a simple but nice decoration. The room includes a nice terrace with the sea view. This description is accurate, but also can create the impression that you have a nice open and outdoor front view to sea. This is not true, you see the sea through a structure that is the roof of the breakfast area (see attached photo). The bathroom is simple and would require some investments. Keeping the window open with a plastic glass, and a simple plastic shower mat are things I will not expect in en USD 400 room. I mean, wouldn't be much nicer a wooden floor? When we arrived there was no shampoo. We asked for shampoo and we got shampoo and conditioner: one bottle 30 cc each, for two persons, two days. In an USD 400 hotel...

  Charming beachfront hotel

  I loved my experience at Chez Louise and would absolutely stay there again. We did not experience any noise issues at all and thought the property was very charming. We paid a little more for a room with a garden - but we're mixed on whether we would do that again. Though the garden looked cute (see picture) we never spent time there and really just served as a way to keep the door open and enjoy the breeze. The breakfast is standard Brazilian / pousada fare (deli meat, cheese, bread, cake, fresh juices, coffee, eggs upon request - see photo). We loved the location - you cant beat breakfast with a view and its near good restaurants. The service was also fantastic. On the beach they provide towels, chairs and umbrellas. They also give you a buzzer - specific for your room -so you can buzz the bar waiter anytime you are ready to order. The food and drinks were all great. Three small critiques: the pool was in the shade the majority of the day so much too cold to use. The food is absurdly overpriced (think 60 real for a salada mixta). Also the Internet only works in the public areas. Two more points for those in a similar dilemma as we were. We were wary when selecting this because the reviews are so mixed specifically the critiques on being over priced and noisy. We did not experience any noise issues. When comparing to pousada prices this is much higher. But when comparing to other beach front options I think this is a great trade off for what you get. We considered briefly staying non beach front for half the price and both agreed the cost savings isn't worth it. A large part of what made the weekend so great was walking out the back to the beach. In summary - loved Chez Louise and would stay there every time I'm in Juquehy.

  Wonderful

  The place is clean, calm and peaceful! The breakfast is delicious and the staff is helpful with you needs. I went there years ago but I am looking forward to Go Back soon! They have a pool and pool Massage in front of the beach ! I extremely recommend

  The full package

  If you want to have a romantic weekend at São Paulo´s north shore and re looking therefore for a charming, well located, and decent value pousada, here you´ll get 1 out of 3. Is it charming? Well, not quite. The house is great and but the rooms are small (some of them ridiculously small!) noisy and too hot. Location-wise just can get any better (here is the 1!). Beachfront with a nice pool right to the beach. Terrific. In terms of value is where it gets tricky. You´ll pay something in around U$500-800 for the weekend. If you think the location is worth it then you´re fine. If for that money you´d expect the full package then don´t go there.

  Lindo hotel

  Muy buena estadia, la comida y el servicio es espectacular, el desayuno es completo, tal vez pequeño pero mucho mas tranquilo. Estar a la orilla de la playa con la piscina es genial. Lo malo es que no tiene parqueo.
