  Good Budget Hotel within Minutes of Colmar and Alsatian Wine Route

  We were en route to turn in our rental car in Colmar and needed an inexpensive hotel within minutes of the city. Chez Felix was perfect for us. Small town basic but cozy and comfortable hotel close to Colmar and the Alsace Wine Route. Good alternative to expensive hotels in Colmar etc. Car is necessary. If you are in the area do not miss Selestat and the Ebersmunster.

  A nice quiet spot

  We stayed for just one night en-route to Switzerland and we had a very nice family room with a nice bathroom. The restaurant served nice food and breakfast was very nice also with plenty of lovely fresh bread. The hotel would have achieved an 'excellent' rating had the bedrooms been air-conditioned. We stayed during a hot period and it was difficult getting enough breeze through the room overnight without the mosquitoes getting in. However, I expect for most of the year it would be fine. The staff were very friendly and the car park was very useful although I guess it would be easy to park nearby anyway. All in all an enjoyable stay.

  Pleasantly surprised

  We called in on a lovely sunny morning for a quick coffee whilst on a cycling tour. Very popular with the locals. Good service and a very good coffee, served with a smile. Very clean modern toilets. Don't be put off by the outside appearance.

  A gem for the traveller

  My wife and I found this place by accident en-route from Lake Garda to Nancy and it was really good. The room was comfortable and very clean and the food in the restaurant was to die for. An excellent place to stay

  Noisy

  We stayed for only one night, and if I'd booked for more nights, would have left after that first night. The room itself would have been very good for our family of 3, if not for the noise problems. We had a quadruple room. Our hotel room was directly above a restaurant and bar that is definitely very popular with the locals, though we didn't realize it until late into the night. When we arrived late afternoon, the receptionist told us we'd parked in the unmarked lot at a wrong angle and asked us to move our car for the other hotel guests that would need to park there that night. We understood and did so -- but then before any more guests showed up, we went on our way out to dinner that night in a nearby town. When we returned it did not appear that there were any other hotel guests parking in the lot. Rather, they'd set up party tents and had a huge gathering outside all night, just underneath our hotel room window. We used the portable air conditioner in the room to try to drown out the noise, but it didn't really help, had a strange smell, and it was horribly loud. We could not sleep with the noisy air conditioner running, and couldn't sleep when we turned it off because of the loud party-goers. At around 2:30 AM, I went downstairs to ask how much longer the restaurant bar would stay open. The hostess told us that the bar was already closed, but people were still hanging out. It was disheartening. We had such a miserable night of horrible sleep.
