  Don't be put off by exterior

  When we first pulled up to this inn my heart sank as we had just come from an exquisite inn in Boston and the exterior looked a little scruffy in comparison however I quickly changed my mind. We were met by Bob the owner, a charming man, who showed us to the Knowles Suite on the top floor. The room was very cosy if a little dated but the bed was huge and very comfortable. You have to tell Bob whether or not you want breakfast and this is served at 9am on the dot. The breakfast was fabulous. You sit around a very nice laid table and have the opportunity to meet the other guests. We hit it off with a lovely and very interesting couple from Charlotte. Bob comes in and chats to you at breakfast and he is full of interesting anecdotes and recommendations in respect of the local area. Guests have the run of the rest of the house which includes a lovely living room. The guest house is literally a few steps from Dock Square, and everything else Kennebunkport has to offer so no need to use car. Kennebunkport is AMAZING and I'd have no hesitation in returning. The Chetwynd is excellent value for money and we really enjoyed our stay there.

  Cute B and B, close to everything!

  We enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Chetwynd House. We were lucky to get the spacious room on the 3rd floor. It felt very private. Bob, our in keeper was a perfect host. His breakfasts were very good, Fruit and some kind of pastry for the morning and eggs cooked to order with bacon. It's an old fashioned house with antique style furniture but we had a flat screen TV and a small refrigerator to store our wine! It is very close to the Dock square for shopping and dining. We like to set off for the day and explore and come back for late dinners. There is easy access to the inn with a private code to enter. If you are not looking for an expensive glamed up inn and want a nice, clean inn with a pleasant owner this is the place for you! I don't think it's open after the end of November but a Spring, Summer or Fall vacation is perfect!

  Ideal location

  Perfect location for visiting Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. Greeted by the 'innkeeper', check in quick! We were in the top room, with the bathroom across the landing, which was a bit disconcerting. Facilities were OK. Furnishings were dated. The air conditioning unit was incredibly noisy, so we couldn't sleep with it on - frustrating ad we were visiting during a mini heatwave. Would have liked breakfast earlier, but the earliest we could have it was 8.30am. Could do with a bit of updating.

  Nice room, terrific location.

  Old, clean, quaint, and footsteps away from downtown Kennebunkport. Innkeeper Bob was helpful and accommodating. Only real complaint is that the house WIFI is not strong enough to reach to the third floor, where we stayed.

  Quaint and Friendly BnB

  We spent a lovely long weekend at the Chetwynd House Inn. We were in the Knowles, Jr. Suite, which is the entire top floor and was plenty roomy for two adults and a toddler in a pack-and-play. The bathroom is across a small landing, but I didn't find that to be problematic at all and was nice to have a bit of space. The furnishings aren't brand new and are more "Charming New England BnB" than "Five Star Resort," but it was fine for our purposes. Bob was an excellent host, and very attentive and helpful. Breakfast every day was very good and we felt very well attended to. If you want to be right in town, you can't hope for a better location. The Inn is tucked away on a little side street, but is literally just steps from the center of Kennebunkport with all of its cute stores and restaurants. There are a number of coffee shops within quick walking distance, which I loved. Overall we had a great stay for a good value (in Kennebunkport, anyway) and would definitely stay again.
