  a perfect place to stay for a short 5 day bfreak

  we came to the isle of Man never having been before on a Shearings coach trip last week. The hotel was centrally placed and very convenient for all that Douglas had to offer. Our room was small and had all the amenities which one might want. The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent and staff cooked us porridge to order. We were especially impressed by the chef who went out of his way to give us excellent cuts of meat and other food and was always pleasant and helpful. He tried hard to find us rare cuts of beef and even tried so hard to get us lambs liver which was only unavailable through no fault of his own. The evening entertainment was just right and we felt happy to be there. Thank you.

  Happy 5 days

  Booked in chesterhouse with coach trip, on arrival the room I was given didn't have a sea view which I'd requested by email .I was told a seaview room would be available the next day and my suit case would be taken to my new room,which it was ,my seaview room was beautiful, king size bed,shower ,plenty of draw space, couldn't be happier. Food was very good, can recommend the chicken curry,breakfast was also very good,plenty of choice again. Hotel very clean,rooms and bed linen was perfect, towels changed every day, enjoyable 5 days all in.no complaints from me,only advice book seaview room.

  I was disappointed not to have some privacy in the bathroom, some opaque covering on the windows would be a great help. the meals were good a choice of three plus special orders for vegetarians or allergys. It will be nicer when the promenade is completed.

  Four night stay with Shearings Coach Tours.

  Thge hotel is situated on thr front at Douglas only five minutes from shops and with a good sea view. Although the hotel would not be considered an expensive luxury venue we found it to be very clean throughout. The room that we had was spotless warm and included an on suite shower, TV coffee making facilities. We were very imprerssed with the standard of room service and found the bed well made and the drinks tray filled every day. The towels were also changed on a daily basis. The meals are all served on a carvery basis and the food is decent with considerable choice. We must congratulate the Manager and all his staff for their excellent customer service and smartness and we have no hesitation in recommending the hotel for anyone going to Douglas.

  Coach trip

  Fascinating place packed with history going back to the Vikings .Victorian railways, museum s,and largest working water wheel in the world,but it also is a very relaxing place lots of good food and very pleasant hotel staff.
