  Service Amazing. Room Poor!

  I would give this 5* if was just for the service. Amazing! Everyone we encountered was always so friendly, professional and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. I thank them for that because it would have been so much worse experience without the excellent service. Also the food and breakfast was brilliant! But I had to go with poor for the bedroom. The carpet was about 35 years old, so I felt I could not relax on it because you could see it just simply wasn't clean, the curtains were shabby and stained, the nets creased, the bathroom mouldy and dated. Our fridge didn't work, which we reported but was told to come back the next day. One of the lightbulbs didn't work. The bed was lumpy and there were marks on the wall. We had a 2 night stay and overall we felt down. We wanted to spend as little time as possible in there. Also it's very disappointing to see photos on this site that some people have been allocated and updated/refurbished room! I didn't know some rooms had been updated! The hotel was not busy at all, so I'm unsure why they are still giving people the shabby rooms when they can get people in the new so as to have a much more pleasant experience!! We used the gym and pool which are also in need of a refurb! But again friendly guy on duty. We haven't been away as a family since August 2019, then Covid hit, so to go away as a family for 2 nights was a real treat, but just a shame the room condition was so poor which tainted things, when it clearly didn't have to be tainted!

  A perfect get away

  Things are all very different these days and we went here just as they had started to start up again. Covid precautions were good although it was a shame that some of the extras advertised were not available. It would have been better to have been identifies on the website. Everything was well organised and planned well even though they seemed to be learning as they went along - as were we all at that time. I would definitely go again in better times. I would recommend the walk at the back of the hotel.

  Brilliant stay but!!!!!!

  Had a 2 night stay with my daughter absolutely loved it staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble spa treatments just what we needed, wifi is fast according to my daughter food is excellent my only moan is the bed is the hardest thing I have ever slept on and pillows were too soft needed memory foam. Saying that it would not stop me from staying again and look forward to coming back and maybe upgrade my room Thank you chesford Grange had a great time.

  Enjoyable family break....

  Stayed here for one night with my mom, daughter and sister. The hotel was as pictured with ample free parking. The rooms were standard but clean with comfortable beds and we had a nice scenic view Staff were very friendly and attentive and brought robes up to us on request. The kids enjoyed the pool while me and my mom took advantage of the steam room and heated loungers. There is no sauna or Jacuzzi but there is a gym and i found the hotel to be very good for the price we paid Breakfast was included and ordered to the table, There was a selection of things available and service was prompt

  Birthday weekend break

  A great weekend! Room really nice and spotlessly clean. Only niggles it was a bit warm (but it was an unseasonally warm weekend) and the shower head wouldnt stay up. Otherwise great and v quiet. Dinner and breakfast both really good and we highly recommend the afternoon tea (part of our package for the weekend) really nice and v generous portions - we couldnt finish it! As per other reviews staff were all really nice and helpful. We will definitely come back
