  Need more stars to rate how great it was

  The room was amazing. The room service too. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast service is very complete! La habitacion fue increible, lo mismo el servicio a la habitacion. El staff es muy atento y servicial y el desayuno muy completo. Definitivamente un lugar para recomendar

  Amazing food & service!

  First time at the Chequers and it definitely wont be my last! Food was beautiful and the service was amazing. Our waitress Meg was very sweet and always making sure we had everything we needed. 10/10

  Waste of an opportunity

  This hotel is in such a great location and is a beautiful building. So much potential. But goodness, what a disappointment. Where do we start? Dirty rooms: the carpet in the Wellington suite hadnt been vacuumed either before we arrived or during our 2-night stay. It had stains all over plus debris including hair from previous guests and the furniture was really tired. We ate at the restaurant on the first night and one of our party thought her fish tasted strange and left most of it, mentioning this to staff. No response as they were basically clueless. She later vomited so had to be moved to another bedroom that could best be described as a shoebox, with knobs that fell off the shower and where you had to crouch to use the facilities due to the low ceilings. Then a complete lack of communication meant their new room wasnt cleaned the next day. Breakfast service was patchy at best: whatever you ordered was delivered incorrectly and basic things such as asking if you want condiments or indeed anything else was lacking. So many staff on hand, most apparently unable to deliver.

  Great service, posy was a very efficient waitress and ensured everything was the best for us. She showed clear knowledge of all the beers and ciders and could inform me on all the questions I asked. Great service :)

  Lunch

  Visited with family for lunch. Plenty of parking. Lovely setting. Beautiful area. Restrictions adhered to perfectly. Staff happy & helpful. Fantastic waitress Aimee, very pleasant, attentive & helpful
