It is what it is for where it is and for the price

Just like my subject says, it is what it is. It is in downtown chattanooga, the bad side of town, it is the cheapest place in town that doesnt require deposit. When I first got here the bums, dealers and such were pretty rampant but they have taken a zero tolerance stance lately by not allowing any overnight guests and kicking out anyone with lots of traffic. The internet is bad, it works, they put the available routers in assorted rooms, people sometimes unplug them and sometimes there are bootleggers hogging the connection so that is worst thing I do not like about it. However Im a student, I cant afford much. I don't talk to anyone here, I don't let no one in my room, I don't wander around at night and I don't have any problems, It is ridiculous that anyone would complain about a cheap hotel, what do you expect? The others like chatt inn, hamilton inn are no better. So if you are just a normal traveler looking for an overnight place on a budget get motel 6 or something. This place is mainly for long term weekly and monthly stays.

    Needs Renovation

I've stayed in this hotel many times over the past 5 years and have found it to be a very good value - clean and well-maintained - until my last stay on May 25, 2013. Not only are the rooms in desperate need of renovation, they were no longer clean or well-maintained nor clean. The upholstered furniture was stained; the carpet was so dirty, it turned our socks black and the bathroom was in disrepair. The hotel was full and there was an almost constant high noise level until well after 11:00pm. Additionally, the hotel staff, who in the past were all very pleasant and helpful, were not friendly or helpful. There are too many hotel choices in the Chattanooga area to patronize a hotel that is sub-standard. Unfortunately, I have found too much variation in the Country Inn brand - some, such as the one in Marion, IL, are excellent, clean and well-maintained but some are very poor. I believe that Corporate needs to visit their individual owners/franchisers periodically to maintain better Brand representation.

    Enjoyable

I got a nasty flat tire on the interstate and pulled off to fix it. As it was nearing dark, and this hotel was right across the street, I decided to limp my car in and stay the night. My first reaction was that we probably weren't in a good neighborhood. The hotel was gated, with barbed wire in some places, security guard, etc. But, I didn't much care. I checked in, and grabbed my young daughters and went to our room. The room appeared clean, but old. The bathroom light didn't work, but I didn't much care. There are a lot of long term residents living there, which was cool. They invited my daughters to play with their kids, and I talked to and met a few of the residents. Everybody seemed to have a very strong sense of community, and were very welcoming. I know my kids had fun playing with other kids. Ultimately, I would say this: If you scare or get nervous easily, don't stay here. It's in a sketchy part of town, and the people that stay there aren't suit wearing business types. If you aren't used to being in the ghetto, don't stay here. If you want an inexpensive room to lay your head down, and aren't scared of shady places, this might be a good place for you. My only regret about staying here? Not having beer to share with the community residents. They were amazing

Do not stay there if coming with service animal.

They will charge you for service animal. They have stated that they do not need to follow the ADA rules. That they can do what they want when they want. They use several names at this address. Staff is rude if you have a service animal. They do have animals there but refuse (or act like they dont, so they wont have to say yes to some one with a service animals) to allow service animals. Even if you have all your paperwork.
